mona had been taking a late night study break at the local coffee shop, a favorite past time of hers was always listening to the white noise of the coffee shop. it was always her favorite white noise and would often find herself listening to it when she was studying. as she drank her hot chocolate she noticed a familiar person and couldn’t help but not say hi to the other, “hey ! what are you doing here ?”

joanna’s note book was opened on her lap as she sat in the outdoor seating of the coffee shop. an iced coffee on the table in front of her, her phone the only thing with it on the empty table surrounded by empty seats around her. she always preferred to be alone, especially when doing what she was doing. her note book was covered in writing and sketches, her two art forms floating around the pages showing her innermost thoughts. poetry scribbled down, and sketches dancing around the words. pages were loose, drawings and poetry that she had ripped out to turn in for class, then forced back in once she got it back. a single movement and it would fly away, and even if she stayed still the breeze forced the pages out of the book, flying through the air until the hit the ground. she grunted with annoyance, bending down to pick up the papers and trying to stop them from going anywhere else. “fuck.” she mumbled to herself, showing her irritation.

Per usual, Max was full of boundless energy. He was bouncing his leg and tapping on his notebook as he tried to study lines. This boy was known to be a tapper and usually was hated by most of his classmates. Though, having his own little drum session as he studied something helped him focus. A quiet remnant of a tune escaped his lips as he began to allow the song stuck in his head escape him. Perceptive as he was, he knew eyes were on him. “Come to enjoy the show?” the boy asked, never looking up from his paper. “You better have bought a ticket.”
joanna had been to every darty since she got there, and she was always the same at them, sticking to the wall with a drink in her hand, or smoking weed in a circle but never talking. she enjoyed parties, even if she never actually talked to anyone or participated in the idiotic party games, she enjoyed getting drunk and watching others. it gave her inspiration for writing or art, all the while making fun of them for what she considered to be beyond idiotic. it was the same here, she had a drink in a red solo cup and a cigarette in the other hand as she people watched. looking for a match to light up the cigarette she realized she had forgotten it, cursing herself before turning to the person closer to her. “you got a light?”
