There was a part of her that felt relieved that she couldn’t see the bright ring in the sky, signifying humanity’s future was still in danger. She was adjusting, but she still didn’t want to let her guard down. There was always a chance this was still something she’d have to resolve. But for now, it was neatly tucked in the back of her mind.
After all, this was a nice return to daily life--the sort of thing she’d missed being locked away in Chaldea. It wasn’t something she’d ever thought she’d have again--even if she was a fairly different person than she’d been when she’d first arrived at the facility. She’d stumbled into everything, absolutely clueless like a newborn fawn, only to have such a heavy responsibility fall on her shoulders.
But the weather was nice, so she’d gone on a walk, wanting to familiarize herself with her surroundings. Even if she did run into danger, Rider was only a command seal away. It felt good to feel the sun on her skin again--in a modern setting, anyway. She wondered briefly if that meant she had succeeded--but then again, she still had her command seals and Rider was with her, and there was no word or warning from Chaldea staff..but dwelling on those thoughts would just make her antsy.
Thankfully, she was drawn out of her thoughts, finding a small object on the ground. Upon closer inspection, it seemed to be a little mascot character phone charm that had fallen off. Blinking, she looked around, wondering who it could have belonged to. With that thought in mind, she approached the first person she laid eyes on.
“Ah, sorry to bother you but, I saw this on the ground and was wondering if it might be yours?” Well, if it wasn’t she supposed there was some lost and found thing somewhere she could drop it off at. Probably.
