My backstage view during the run of Theatre Nova’s #SingHappy: a set list and a history of telecommunications in microcosm. Today, a beautifully rowdy and enthusiastic sold out house completes our run. This has been a year of great highs and lows for me, and this experience has been so healing. (In some ways, five years in coming, but all worth the journey, growth, learning, and opportunity those years represent.) I love you, Diane Hill. Thank you for being the perfect friend, mentor, giggle buddy, consigliere. So grateful I got the chance to work with this insanely talented, gracious, supportive cast/creative team Diane, R MacKenzie Lewis, Monica Spencer, Kristin Clark, Kalyse Edmondson, Elizabeth Jaffe Smoot, John DeMerell, Justin Scott Bays, and Briana O'Neal. Being in this show will be one of the great joys of my performing life. What a warm, wonderful, supportive Saturday house tonight for Theatre Nova’s #SingHappy. Our genius musical maestro R MacKenzie Lewis and brilliantly resourceful scenic designer Monica Spencer showed their love, as did Southeast Michigan theatre badasses Richard Payton, David Moan, and Christopher Kamm. And I need to give a shout out to dear friend (and marvelous vocalist in her own right) Laura Sagolla who came to the show last night. Love you all. This has been such a richly rewarding experience.
