Professional makeup artists charge industry standard rates no matter what city they are in. // We are not charging $45-$85 for bridal makeup. Plenty of salons who are hair-focused charge this. // We know that just because someone went to cosmetology school or call themselves a makeup artist does not mean they can do makeup. // We know the difference between industry and salon. // We are not taking commercial jobs for less money because we are desperate to put a meal on our table or afraid someone else will get the job if we charge more. We aren't going to undercut our entire industry to save a production company money. We educate producers and people making budgets on how much to budget by requesting industry-standard day rates. // We watch those You Tube videos and follow those IG accounts too but we know that just because someone can do good makeup on themselves, doesn't mean they can do it on a client. Just because they are getting free product doesn't mean they know how to use it or what's in it or how it looks on-camera. // We know history, reference, color theory, formula, brands and current products/trends. // We make love-based decisions in our industry and we have a vast network of pro makeup artists that we can call on for job-related support, questions and advice. #thisishowipro
