For standard eyeglass prescriptions, single-vision lenses are prescription lenses with only one use. They are intended for one field of view across the entire lens to correct for a particular field of view (near, intermediate, or far), such as: looking at distant objects, looking at intermediate objects such as computers or telephones, or looking at near objects for reading (presbyopia).
