OMG! Omahe Mbok Giyem
Yet not a week ago, me and fellow thursdiner tried OMG (Omahe Mbok Giyem). Located in the city of Bantul, it had no signage on the main road. Just make sure your GPS ready or quickly turn east as soon as you see SAMSAT BANTUL signage right after passing PKU Muhammadiyah Bantul from north.
The venue was a greyish-purple tainted Javanese village brick house (or as the officials says: Javanese country house; which naturally refers to non-ceiling house), decorated in several artpieces, smells like Mirota Batik, and plays Javanese Jazz song to sums up the atmosphere. It was a very cute place, with a real deal tablescape glassware.
We were coming to OMG for iftar dinner, so for complimentary, they gave us free flow of mineral water, a big cup of nasgitel tea (Tjatut brand, CMIIW), and several bulk of dates. Nasgitel tea is stands for panas-legi-kentel (hot-sweet-thick) tea which was Javanese style of tea. I'm a fan of mountain-brew tea, so too sweet and too thick is so not me.
We were then made our orders. Prices were less than 20k for food and maximum 10k for beverages. Due to the low light condition, the menu book snapshots were blurry *sorry*. However, their menu were consists of soups, rice dishes, chicken dishes, noodles & rice noodles, eggs, vegs, snacks, desserts, and special packages.
As soon as we made our orders, we were asking for musholla, which they have not. We were then given the place to do our pray in a massage area.
Cute signage right .. and it can be bought, well, at least the memo on our table says that:
(translation: Everything can be bought, except the owner)
Bar Order
The glassware here was photographically deceiving, so as a size comparison, do note the IDR 500,- coins next to the glasses or plate.
Es Timun Serut 5k was good, not to sweet, and the size of the shredded cucumber was perfect.
Kopi Tubruk OMG 10k was traditional Javanese style for serving coffee. Coffee dusts were stirred with boiling water and not filtered. No sugar added. We have to bite a bit of palm sugar first before sipping our coffee. Here in OMG the twist was that they were using Gujahe (gula jawa jahe; Jogjanese souvenir on which palm sugar were already infused with ginger). Unique, but kinda too gingery.
Mix Lemon Tea 4.5k which i forgot to taste. However i didn't heard complaint, though.
Food Order
We were actually want to order Lapis Sensation, which happen to be sold out that day. So we move on and chose the menu below for sweet treats.
Pisang Cokelat Keju (Chocolate and Cheese Banana) 7.5k was big, tasty, and wrapped in a kind of popiah skin. Very reccomended and fulfilling.
Zuppa Soup 10k was tasted like an instant one, way too salty.
Chicken blackpepper 12.5k was big rounded breast medallion fillet, moist, tasty, with even power of blackpepper.
Wader 15k is unlike those i accustomed to. Fishes were big. It was hot and unique. It was most likely to be named sambal goreng kering wader.
Paket Ayam Bakar (Grilled Chicken Package) 15k was the best thing happened that night. Everything is perfect, except for the complimentary sayur lodeh which lacks of sweetness.
Paket Nasi Petir (Thunder Rice Package) 10k was a nightmare. Well, actually each item was very well cooked: nice sauteed vegs and way better the moist eggs. Too bad the oseng tempe was too hot too handle. It gave me sudden sinusitis, made my digestory system rejects all the food coming to my mouth, and literally made me puke in the toilet for its hotness :(
Buah Potong (forgot the price) was consists of apple, melon, and watermelon; each in a very brilliant colors.
Services
It was a cheap place but with a savvy service, not exactly the best, but adding the most values for its price.
Reccomendation
Just avoid Paket Nasi Petir!

DeLicia Bakery & Ice Cream Boutique
Biskuit Raya Series - Part 4
I didn't buy any of my biscuit raya here, but it was quite an option if you're dubious about where to buy your biskuit raya. DeLicia is famous of its 25k custom-made cupcakes. Eventhough their cupcake's cakes was no better than Billie Chick, somehow their artworks is a better treat for the eyes. They also provide ice cream cakes too.

Below were their hampers list and ice cream cake list, both were pretty much cheaper than Billie Chick's

Wahyu Austin Roemah Pastry
Biskuit Raya series - Part 1 It was the first week of Ramadhan when my aunt asks me to accompany her shopping for biskuit raya. Our first priority is Wahyu Austin, since it was my favorite pastry kitchen (yes, they have no store and do no deliveries). Wahyu Austin itself was founded by Bu Tutik, former pastry chef of Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta (CMIIW), named after her children, and now supplying Starbucks and various coffeeshops around Yogyakarta. On the very same day, we came to Wahyu Austin just to found out that the kitchen was already fully occupied and did not receive more orders up to September 8th (literally: a month! OMG). However, they still sell some assortments of biskuit raya on the shelves but you cannot be picky about the variants though. Below were some of the biskuit raya bought for Raya Eid's at my Grandma's:
Assortments of biskuit raya
Chocolate Nero 25k
Putri Salju (Snow White Cookies) 25k
Coconut Cookies 20k
Cheese Puffs (left) and Sugar Puffs (right), each were 20k
Bagelen 20k
Ring-shaped Choux 20k We were also bought Chocolate Cookies 20k which i do forgot to take picture of and let go the grissini on the shelves. All were tasting great, just as it always be. However, my favorite is still their pralines, tiramisu, and macaroni schotel, which unfortunately only be able to made order after September 8th. However, Bu Tutik gave us complimentary 60cm-long Chocolate Swiss Roll for our purchase, which was also tasted great.

Spesial Bubur/Misoa Ayam Rizki
We were having breakfast in Jl. Erlangga before leaving Semarang. All of my friends were ordering chicken porridge but i was interested in misoa ayam. Misoa is white thin noodle made from wheat flour which will be soggy if soaked for a long time. The misoa ayam dish was consisted of misoa, chicken chunks, egg loo, celery, and tongcai (fermented radish). The chicken porridge was nothing special, but the misoa ayam was good. I definitely not wasting my 15k, nom nom :9

Pisang Plenet Khas Semarang
I was coming to this place expecting a slightly-pinched-then-grilled banana and i was in shock after i saw the visual of what a "pisang plenet" was. It was forcefully pinched that it looked more like pancakes than banana, yet not resulting in a mess (still wondering how they might done that).
Pisang plenet was sold as sandwich, double layer of pinched banana with variation of fillings.
Available fillings were classic (pineapple jam and dusted sugar) 2.5k, chocolate 2.5k, peanuts 2.5k, chocopeanuts 2.5k, cheese 4k, chococheese 4k. The taste was actually nothing special, but it was OK just to know that a banana may be pinched-out to a pancake-like form :))

Jagung Bakar Bu Joyo
was Jagung Bakar Bumbungsari. This place was reccomended by Lika to try Semarang-style sambal. I obviously couldn't find any grilled-corn stall in Jogja which sell this kind of sambal. The Semarang-style sambal had a distinct sweetness. If you're not into grilled-corn yet still want to try this kind of sambal, you may found it as saus spesial gama in Gama Seafood (and dont forget to order the butter-fried srimping too) :)

Tahu Petis Prasojo
Above was tahu petis 1k from Tahu Petis Prasojo. It was PERFECT!!! :9 :9
It was unlike any petis (shrimp and black soybean paste) i've eaten before. It had proper sweetness and was addicting. It also went well as a fried beancurd's filling. Lika told me that they also served petis sandwiched in mendoan. A definite have-to-eat if i was to return in Semarang again! nom nom :9
