Finally decided to crawl out of my decrepit cave and post something I had saved on my drafts. Hope this is a way to start off something good here.

REVIEW // Dishonored: The Return of Daud (Dishonored, #2) by Adam Christopher
★★☆☆☆
// The Corroded Man // The Veiled Terror // The Wyrmwood Deceit // The Peeress and the Price //
I was hovering between 2 and 3 stars while reading the book, but once I got to page 245 and read this sentence with my own two eyes: "Daud let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding." I knew I had to drop it to 2. Why do so many fictional characters lack control of their own lungs?

REVIEW // Bossypants by Tina Fey
★★☆☆☆
This was a bit of a disappointment. I love Tina Fey and usually find her hilarious, but this time I didn't really get more than a few chuckles.
I really enjoyed certain parts of this book, especially when she recounts her experience (and advice) with women’s struggles in comedy, in addition to the behind-the-scenes look at her career. However, there wasn’t much cohesion among the different sections of the book, which ranged from autobiographical, to career advice, to insight into the industry and its problems. While, individually, these were entertaining and, especially in the case of her accounts on sexism in comedy, together they clashed and seemed out of place. There were a few too many gay jokes, which at first I looked past but eventually found at best annoying and at worst borderline offensive. As I mentioned, I had a few laughs, especially in the first couple chapters, but afterwards I rarely found her jokes and content amusing, especially due to the chaotic tone and content.

REVIEW // Dishonored 2: The Peeress and the Price by Michael Moreci, art by Andrea Olimpieri
★★☆☆☆
// The Corroded Man // The Return of Daud // The Veiled Terror // The Wyrmwood Deceit //
As much as I enjoyed reading a little bit more of the adventures of Emily Kaldwin, this graphic novel was just not it. This is obviously very subjective, but I'm not really a fan of the art. It's so blocky and dark that it makes difficult to see the full range of emotion on any of the characters. The story itself is also very short, so all of the plot points, characters, and themes introduced are not explored in a meaningful way. Because of the length, all of the character motivations and traits need to be blatantly obvious, which makes the story very trope-y and completely in-your-face.

Book Review: Deadly Storm by E.W. Saloka.
An Unending Disaster I am unsure of my feelings for this book. It annoyed me most of the way through, after first completely throwing me off
Two Star Puerto Rican Rum: aged for at least 3 to 5 years in “Oloroso” white oak barrels. This rum is great on its own but will also add exceptional flavor and character to classic cocktails.

Tasting Notes: Light-medium body with a natural bronze color obtained from its aging process. Aromas of plums, almonds, apricot, and vanilla with subtle smoky, woody notes. Caramelized fruit and sugar cane predominate along with a delicate, lasting oak taste.
