Fic questions: All numbers!

1. Do you listen to music while you write? Yes and no, often yes.

2. Do you prefer to write oneshots, series, headcannons, imagines or other? I think I’d consider myself in the one shots category, though I love to dabble in ideas.

3. How long is your average fic? I’d estimate a couple hundred words to a thousand. I haven’t recently tallied the numbers. I’ll make a note to do that in the future.

4. What was the first fic you ever wrote? As I no longer have those accounts or documents (or notebooks), I’d estimate my first fanfic to be Kingdom Hearts, Shaman King, or Naruto.

5. Why do you write fics? It sounds stupid, but to learn how to better communicate. As in: I’ve poor timing, or I can prattle (my answers speak for me, I’m sure), so I want to sound cohesive. Say much without saying much, I guess. 

A less serious because I just want to, because of some inner drive.

6. What character is your favourite to write? As of late, it seems to be Maeglin. I cannot say for all time, but I have gone in depths studying this family dynamic, and have several WIPs featuring them (even if some are AU).

7. What ship is your favourite to write? As for Tolkien, or general fandom, I cannot say, as I go through spurts of writing for certain ships. For non-Tolkien, I might favor writing some Even and Marluxia.

8. What type of fic is your favourite? (eg. fluff, angst, ect.) I’m going to say general themes, with a tough of fluff or angst, perhaps a pinch of torture. I will say I’m guilty of alternate universes or timelines—I dub them as “what ifs” since I’m forgetting the technical term where you work within canon timeline, but you twist it at the same time (what if this character lives, what if this character dies, so on and so forth).

9. How long does it take you to write a fic? Various depending on the project. Short pieces can have rough concepts/drafts in a matter of hours to days, whereas longer works can take months to years. Editing is a slow process. Inner criticism murders a lot of my interest, but I aim to win the war over it some day. 

10. What is your favourite fic you’re ever posted? It’d have to be the three sentence challenge, featuring Celebrimbor’s reaction the exact moment he finds out about Annatar’s Sauron’s betrayal. (It is no longer online)
