AI “Art” Is Not Art - My Thoughts on Dead by Daylight - Sinister Grace

Behaviour Interactive has used generative AI to conceptualize promotional "art" for Dbd's Tomb Raider and Dungeons & Dragons Chapters and is doubling down on the usage of it. This month, BHVR posted a job listing for a generative AI specialist, a position that requires whoever fills it to train that tool to improve the company's internal workflow systems. Indirectly or not, creative theft and environmental damage continue to further the development of DbD and its DLCs. Is Sinister Grace one of them?

Its diversity-expanding adaptation of Thai folklore, positively uncharacteristically gory graphics, sometimes palpably on-edge, sometimes chilling operatic music; and tragically ironic lore that contrasts healthy creative ambition with a self-destrustive need for fame could have all had their authenticity tarnished. With there being no way of knowing for sure how deep this rabbit hole goes, it's far from unfair to call into question whether or not Sinister Grace and, by extension, its mother game are still or were ever pieces of art.
