SIPFEST
Sip some cinema at SIPfest, a night under the star of Surfers Paradise watching mini-movies from Australia's best emerging film making talent. The outdoor film festival debuted at the 2012 Surfers Paradise Festival with a program of premium short films and a panel of industry experts to divvy up gongs for Best Film, Runner-Up, Best Director, Best Cinematography and Best Editing. Set in Neal Shannon Park by the ferris wheel atop the Bruce Bishop Carpark, SIPfest is scheduled as an after-dark addition to the One Way Street Party, which lights up adjacent Appel Street during the day with good bands and groovy vibes. SIPfest films cover any genre: thriller, comedy, animation, documentary, drama ... if it entertains an audience, it's in the mix.
