Reading about trauma and dissociation always makes me feel so deeply understood. It explains all these things about me that I couldn’t explain before. It’s just a kind of strange experience sometimes that these books will describe my experiences so exactly.

My least favorite OSDDID hot take is that “allowing” alters to have a different name, age, gender, sense of appearance, etc is “anti recovery” somehow?? Like. You do understand that having separate distinct identities is one of the diagnostic criteria, and that it’s not a choice or something that you can control?? I do think it’s a good idea to accept that alters are not actually separate people and you are all sharing this life, but that’s completely different from saying that it’s “anti recovery” if your alters have a different perception of themselves.
Fellas is it “anti recovery” to have symptoms of DID?
As promised, here is my playlist of songs that I think have OSDD/DID vibes. There’s some songs that feel more relevant to general trauma and mental illness, but a lot of them feel specifically relatable to dissociation and trauma in that context.

One of those times of year where some subconscious memory or some shit is making things worse than usual. Don’t know why or what’s going on. Don’t know if I can fix it or just have to power through.
I would do anything to be able to run away and disappear and make sure nobody remembers me. It’s not enough to just leave, i want to be able to extract myself from their memories. I want to erase every single hint of who I once was.
Hate the fact that I’m disabled and can’t just drive away and start over somewhere. Or even just vanish for an extended period of time. I can’t even drive at all currently.
My friends feel like distant strangers, I feel like a stranger too tbh. Depression and shit is getting bad again but I don’t know why. I’m so tired and my self hatred runs so deep.
This morning I happened to find an old journal from 2014. I have enough self awareness to know that I probably shouldn’t read it, but maybe not enough self control to stop myself. I’m so curious.
Discovered an alter today in what might have been the most humiliating way possible. I really really don’t like being so vulnerable in front of people. And just saying shit with no filter??
But anyway. This alter is somewhere between 11-14 years old. Which is the youngest that I’m currently aware of. And I am kind of getting the feeling that this is the tip of the iceberg, and there probably are more child alters somewhere inside.
Idk. Just kind of dumping my thoughts out right now. I don’t know if they’ll come back out but I kind of hope they do. From what I can remember they were happy to be here once they’d calmed down.
