thoughts on orkney/wales bros doomed yaoi
The medlit really underdeveloped the blood feud. Orkney bros don’t have a strong reason to hate the sons of Pellinore after successfully killing Pelli and even seemingly make an exception for Perceval which is weird so I think ideally the whole thing would be developed more for maximum angst.
But they deffo all have sexual tension.
Any combo of characters works. Firstly because Gawain and Lamorak have chemistry with every human being on earth. But then it’s like… Gawain and Tor knighted together. Known each other their entire careers. Tor doesn’t give a shit about Pelli maybe he and Gawain can kiss about it.
But Gwalchmai/Gawain also was so so sweet to Peredur/Perceval when they first met there’s something there. Gave the man matching clothes. Okay. Gay.
And then there’s Lamorak who is sexy af and can pull anybody he wants. I do think shipping him with Gaheris is the funniest possible option just because Lamorak has also slept with their mother but I like Agravaine as a contender as well. I think it could also be peak if Lamorak gets with Mordred but Lamorak is also fucking Mordred’s mother, his “only parent” as he said in Phyllis Ann Karr’s Idylls of the Queen. Then Mordred literally stabs Lamorak in the back? That’s insane. I’m eating it.
Aglovale could also hook up with Gawain as the two eldest sons of Lot and Pelli but I personally prefer Gawain/Tor. Drian and Gareth are also here. I guess.
So basically two thumbs up from me I think there’s a lot of potential here if someone is willing to put the time in to develop them all as individual characters worth rooting for and then shipping them. And I intend to. ;^)
