Hello I am just wondering, how much info do we have on the Pythagoras/Icarus relationship? I'm wondering if there's an interview or something I haven't seen that confirms they are an actual thing. All I've seen is the clip from the trailer with them nearly kissing, which could mean anything, but a lot of blogs seem to talk about them as a couple already. (I really hope it's more than just a "he's gay but he isn't, what a shame" story!) Thank you for this blog! :) x
Besides the snippet in the trailer, we’ve only got this digitalspy interview, where Robert Emms touches upon the Icarus/Pythagoras subject:
“The character of Icarus (Joseph Timms) comes into it and they have a very strong friendship… but where it goes to is an interesting place”
Robert’s whole paragraph is also headlined with: “Pythagoras might get a little romance of his own”
But you know, with this little and vague info I wouldn’t actually put that/too much hope into it, given how marketing knows how to bait viewers when they see what a strong reaction the Jason/Pythagoras chemistry brought forward (scroll through past tweets on the official Atlantis twitter account).
So take it with a grain of salt.
But yeah, it’s understable why lots of bloggers ships them, given how intimate they looked in the clip. One has to be blind, not to suspect that they’re either extremely close or have bonded over a shared loss/tragedy.
And I’m not sure if this connects Icarus to the storyline we’ve got so far but Daedalus has already appeared in 1x10 and according to the myths, he was Icarus’ father. But I’m not sure if they’ll actually connect these two characters as father and son or just ignore it and leave it.
In short: it’s unconfirmed and we have to be patient viewers:)
