Crossfire
Title: Cossfire Author: SiriusUntiltheVeryEnd Rating: M Status: Complete Genres: Suspense, Romance Chapters: 18 Word Count: 64,101 Summary: "An investigative reporter witnessed Alexander Nott murder a civilian. With her testimony, we can put him and half his guys in Azkaban. We just need someone stationed with her 24/7 to make sure she makes it to the hearing in three months." Malfoy said, "Oh Clarkson! I forgot to ask. What's this girls name?" Clarkson turned and said, "Rose. Rose Weasley."
i feel like i yell about this every couple of months but everett cooper is a fucking angel and im sad again
Could you recommend fics/drabbles where Sirius or Remus is a professor at Hogwarts and has a relationship with an older (nothing creepy) student? Or non-Marauder-era (meaning fic/drabble where Sirius and Remus are adults, during Harry's time) where they play spin the bottle or other party games (not necessarily with each other, although I'm fine with the wolfstar pairing as well)?
Hmm, I don't think I've read anything like what you've described (or at least nothings jumping out at me).
So I'm gonna throw this one over to siriusuntiltheveryend littleredridingjames marliusblackinnon lilypxtter and/or fightingsomany because maybe y'all have read something I haven't?
who would u recommend to follow???????????
Literally every time this happens all of my favorite blogs fall right out of my head so I know I'm leaving approximately 300 amazing blogs out, but this right here are my all time faves:
phenomenalblogging, queerlyslytherin, teampetty, siriusuntiltheveryend, thebitchandthedog, maddyits2am, asiriusfan
God there are literally so, so many more but I'm too lazy to go track them down because I have an empty brain when it comes to mutuals but all of those people are amazing as long as your 2015 blog interests include Harry Potter, puns, and my very own close personal friends.
Author Interview #6: SiriusUntiltheVeryEnd
SiriusUntiltheVeryEnd is a great writer who joined fanfiction.net in December 2006. She’s written 29 stories for the Harry Potter fandom: several one shots and multi-chapter fics. I’ve already talked about Crossfire which I really loved but she’s also written two other Scorose fics that I liked, Rumor Has It and Fireflies. This author has also written profusely for the Marauders era with for example a fic I’m currently reading The Rise and Fall of the Doe and the Stag. Here's a link to her profile.
Since I enjoy her writing I asked her some questions:
1. How did you discover fanfiction?
I actually can't remember. Probably just scrolling through the internet. It was a while ago.
2. Why did you decide to write fanfiction?
I just always had ideas for things I wished they would do with certain characters so I started writing it down.
3. Did you read fanfiction a lot before starting to write it? If so, from what fandoms?
Yes. I read mostly Harry Potter, but I've read Vampire Diaries fanfiction, Alias fanfiction and Arrow fanfiction. I read a lot when I started.
4. How did you feel when you posted your first fanfiction?
I was nervous because I thought it was awful and everyone would hate it. Which was half true, but it just gave me practice to get better.
5. What's the story/meaning behind your username?
Sirius Black is my favorite character and I always loved the line, "Will you stay with me?" And then James replies, "Until the very end." So I just combined them.
6. What do you think is your biggest strength and biggest weakness in your writing?
Strength; I'd have to say humor, dialogue and action. Weakness: spelling, grammar, setting and descriptions.
7. Do you write original work, other than fanfiction?
I try to write original work but I usually lose steam on it.
8. Do you find it difficult to work on several stories at once?
I don't find it difficult to write different stories at once. I just usually get into the zone with them a different times.
9. Do you have a special ritual or certain things that you do when you write?
I usually do a bunch of homework and chores first, but not all so I'm still putting something off but I'm in work mode. Also I find an 8 track playlist that fits what tone I'm writing in the chapter.
10. Do you refer to the original material often to help you when writing?
I do check the original material often. Although slip ups happen. I noticed the other day that Dirk Cresswell was a completely different person then what I wrote in my story, and left it in anyway.
11. Is there an aspect that you don't like about writing and posting fanfiction?
One aspect i hate about fanfiction is when I don't get feedback or if i do, when it's not detailed feedback. I understand I've reviewed and sometimes you don't feel like leaving anything. But occasionally when you've spent a few hours perfecting a chapters it's really nice to see a long review.
12. What is the biggest challenge for you when writing fanfiction?
My biggest challenge is fighting writers block because it comes in randomly and I never know how long it's going to stay.
13. What are your favourite fanfictions for the Scorose and Jily pairings?
Jily: Hand in Hand and Before the Fawn. Scorose: Hot Off the Press, After the Storm and The Art of Seduction.
14. Who are your top 5 writers that you would recommend to check out?
Jack'N'SallyGal, B.C Daily and I'm sure there's others but I don't read a lot of fanfiction anymore.
15. You've only written for the Harry Potter fandom, why is that? Would you consider writing for another fandom? And in what era do you prefer writing about, Marauders or Next Generation?
I used to write Vampire Diaries, but I could never finish it. Harry Potter is the only fandom that I always come back to and always have ideas for. I prefer writing in Marauders because I just think it's more interesting. There's a war plus a bunch of characters that you can explore and a great built in plot, but I do have a soft spot for Next Generation because of Scorose.
16. Have you had unpleasant experiences with some of your readers?
Not recently, but i used to have people yell at me for my writing choices or try to pick a fight with me about what I'm writing.
17. Do you think there will be a time when you decide to stop writing fanfiction?
I keep trying to focus on original work but to be honest I don't know. I think I'll always come back.
18. If you could sum up your experience as a successful fanfiction writer in three words, what would they be?
Three words....Uh....best surprise ever?
19. Would you have any advice to aspiring writers?
Just keep practicing. Lately I've been rping a lot to get better at writing certain types of scenes. And honestly the key is to keep working at it and read a lot to see what cool things you could try to incorporate in your writing. Because you're never going to start out exceptional, it always takes time.
20. Anything to say to your readers and potential readers?
Um...hey?!
Thank you so much for doing this interview and for your fanfictions :) Check out her tumblr : siriusuntiltheveryend !
