Hi there! I'm a fan from the PMD-U RP days. You are a big inspiration to me with your storytelling and art! I wanted to ask you if there were any current projects you are working on right now? And if you have any storytelling tips for aspiring writer/comic artists >w< Thank you! Hope all is well.
Thank you! It was a wonderful surprise to find this message! >(o u o)<
As for current projects, I have some barely touched but much thought about in my brain personal projects on hold while I'm swamped with life. Between work, DMing, and health issues, I unfortunately haven't had much energy or time to work on big side projects. I hope once things settle I can be more active again!
Storytelling tips? hmmm. I'd say for making a character it's important to have a idea for where you'd like them to end. Not like how they die but how they grow. How do they start off and what do they learn and how does that change them?
And to pair with that, they themselves should have a goal. Whether it's something as vague as ' I wanna be the best baker!' or as specific as ' I gotta win this pie baking contest to get that prize money to pay for my sisters surgery', it's just good to have a motive. With a motive you can better figure out how they'd react to situations and you get the fun question of 'how far would they go to achieve their goal?'. Are they devious enough to cheat to win that pie contest? Or are they proud and want to win as fair as possible?
They can change their goal as they learn new information or even maybe fail and have to decide what to do from there. What if they learn the pies are being used to as weapons in the great clown wars and they can't go on supporting this violence? What if they lose the contest and now gotta either cope with not being the best right away or having to find another way to get that money?
I hope this makes sense and helps a little!
