Art Fight 2022 Summary

This was my first artfight and I had so much fun! I’ve drawn more in the last month than I have in the last year probably! This post is more for me to keep track of my stats going forward, since I’ll try to do this every year.

ArtFight 2023 Summary

Second year of artfight done! My goal was to get 31 attacks in and I’m glad I made it! Got a good head start at the beginning of the month, getting up to a 6 day backlog, lagged around week 3 since life started to catch up to me again, but managed to get the last few in by the end! I got a little more experimental with backgrounds and lighting effects this year but I’m happy with what I learned and got done this month.

Attacks: 31 (24 Werewolf, 7 Vampire)

Size: 23 Full, 7 Half, 1 Bust

Backgrounds: 8 None, 8 Prop, 15 Scene

Defenses: 17, all 7 characters attacked (6 new from last year)

Time Spent (70+ hours!):

Attacks: 58 hours (Average: 1.9 hours/atk)

1.25 - 3.5 across all pieces

6 new + 1 redraw: 13.5 hrs

Up to 3 drawings per day

It’s been really inspiring to see improvement from last year and to pickup new tricks, as well as to see how other artists interpreted my characters. I love having this month to really focus on creating art and I’m looking forward to making more improvements for next year!

got an ask recently about the way my digital art looks like traditional, so I tried to explain the steps on my self portrait, feat. some of my favorite artists and favorite brushes. sorry if it's incoherent, I'm not used to explaining my process besides "I've been professionally studying traditional art for half my life and I'm really bad at technology so I just paint digitally the way I do on paper"
