Last nights full moon. I was collecting some fire wood in the forest and had a feeling the moon should be over the horizon already. As soon as I walked up the hill the moons gaze and light froze me in place.

I think I might remember this day for the rest of my life. For my job I spend all day almost every day in a concrete box with no windows. The air is filled with dust and the loud roar of machinery. I go to work when the sun has yet to rise, and I leave when the sun has set. I haven't gone on a walk in the woods since the summer and it kills me every day to be so removed from the earth I love so much... This morning I sat and watched the sun rise listening to the wind. And I reached actual zen for the first time in my life. My mind was absolutely empty, I saw everything and nothing. I was content to just be one of the trees and enjoy being. I sat for almost an hour feeling empty, but not in a scary way, it was bliss. I wasn't plagued by worry or the never ending gnawing pressure of my depression and anxiety. Peace was so foreign it was scary, but how could anything be wrong with something so beautiful. Have I died and gone to knitter's heaven? When we checked into our hotel tonight, Evan ran back out of the lobby to excitedly tell me that there was yarn in the lobby. As it turns out the hotel has a llama farm and has handspun yarn each labeled with a photo of its llama. Tomorrow morning I'll meet and feed the llamas. I promise the share photos of the animals and daylight photos of the yarn.
