Sleep In the Snow ✖ Shinhye&Taemin
It was late when Shinhye made her way back to her dorm room, another nights dancing had exhausted her body, but her mind was still racing as she slipped quietly into the room and excused herself to change before she flopped onto her bed. Taemin, from what she had learned of the male with whom she shared space was nice enough, and his liking for nature meant there room was filled with beautiful plants. The green inside was quite a change from the blanket of snow outside, but it made her feel more at home. Sitting up, she examined the one she'd taken a liking to. Lantana was a heat tolerant plant that bloomed in temperatures over a hundred degrees,
Lightly tapping the pot she smiled. "Hello," she breathed, letting her fingers dip into the soil, she frowned, it was too cold. Closing her eyes, she focused on heating the moisture in the dirt until it was the right temperature, smiling to herself as she removed her fingers, letting them lightly ghost over the petals as Taemin caught her attention from the corner of her eye. "Still not sleeping?" She asked softly as she pulled her knees to her chest, letting her head rest atop them.
"I'd say warm milk but you are vegan aren't you?" Inhaling she lifted her head. "What about reading? I'm sure if you started in on something super boring you could fall asleep in no time!" After a short moment of silence she reached for the strange device that played music, plugging it into to the base she found the playlist she liked to fall asleep to and pressed play, letting it softly fill the room before she crossed to perch on the side of his bed. "Do you miss home?" She asked, smiling softly. That was the reason she found it so hard to sleep most days. The homesickness struck her to the core.
"Or are you just worried about being attacked?" The later seemed more likely. She never worried much about being in danger while she slept. She was trained to be able to defend herself no matter what state she started in, but more than that, she had a locked door between her and the rest of the academy to keep her safe, where as her roommate from what she had learned of his species slept out doors, and reverted to a tree form. "I can go out with you, and stand guard until you fall asleep," she offered. "It's pretty enough outside, and I could use a walk I think." Really it was freezing, and the Dragon was weary of being out in the cold. But if it was to help her roommate...well...she would manage.
