Divine: “Born To Be Cheap” b/w “The Name Game” Situation Two label 7″ (1981)
Just so we hit our minimum twenty-post quota per month, here’s one we forgot getting around to when it mattered. This is a second pressing of Divine’s first single / release. Originally pressed through industrial label Wax Trax, Beggars Banquet’s distribution label Situation Two decided to get in the game and re-issue Divine’s double-feature stank-fest. She was mean, brash, and outrageous on wax, but could also have raging fun at the same time and could set any exotic rainbow nightclub on fire. Too bad she left us too soon. She would’ve mad a great guest star on Married With Children.

Power, power feeds you long loving hours I can give everlasting power Flower, the world opens you need simple flower A feeling, a feeling all so sour
Draining me, now draining me from power! Draining me, now draining me from power!
Masters of wasteland deathrock with a twang. These English cowboys of the underworld (LOL!) bring the gloom in a thundering dust cloud of horse driven hoof-stomping rhythm. All that’s missing is the sound of a whip crack!
Arrtist: Peter van Horsen Track: Situation Two
