Portland's Satan's Pilgrims are the coolest, most with it, cape-clad surf-pilgrim rock band ever! I first caught their brand of blood-dripping reverb way back in 1994/95? @emptybottle as part of an all Estrus showcase along with the Monomen, Man or Astroman, etc. The cover features local Portland TV horror host, Ms. Tarantula Ghoul. She hosted House of Horror on KPTV from 1957 to 1959. I was so thrilled to find this last year at a record fair, having no idea that it had even been reissued. Oh so deliciously thick; buzzing, grinding, rumbling, grooving and howling into oblivion. This is Fudge Tunnel's debut album. I discovered them on an Earache Records cassette sampler way back when. This was the noise I had been waiting for all my life! Cathartic and transformative for me. One of those albums that exorcizes all the frustrations and angst and leaves me feeling good, like after a workout! They only had three albums and am fortunate to have seen them live. One of the loudest bands I've ever seen!
