aaaaaaah this is so nice, thank you for sending it to me!

1) I’ve become a good self-advocate despite the fact that it is extremely difficult for me to articulate my needs (ah, the marvelous catch-22 of autism: if it were easier to explain my problems I would have fewer problems to begin with)

2) I’m resilient. Life isn’t always great but I can keep things in perspective, maintain some self-compassion, and weather the storm. (With the support of others. I don’t think that “never needs help and friends are optional” is actually a healthy mindset, unlike younger me.)

3) idk how to really phrase this one but I know how to be...charming? I don’t have amazing social skills/intuition (again, the Autism™) but people will pass off a lot of that as quirkiness if I just Exude Personality at them hard enough

4) I am good at drawing/painting after many years of intentionally putting in effort. I also got pretty good at writing after many years of intentionally putting in joy. Both of these are important.

5) I have grown immensely as a person over the past several years, and will continue to do so, because I've developed a strong sense of my personal values and have made strides to move towards them.
