my brother looked me dead in the face and said “there’s no reason we should care about {Henry the Eighth’ wives} other than that they had kids and died. they did nothing else important”

and it’s just, the anger i felt was just...I can’t even. because he says this all the time. he always has to say something. he can’t let me — he can’t let me express love and interest and be excited about something. and not only that but in the process he diminished the lives of six extradoridnary, complicated, and intelligent women who deserve to be remembered for who they were as people and queens outside of Henry.

i never really understood why six was so important until this very second. because so many women in history have been downgraded to “the wives”. any influence or power they had is considered to be inferior to their husbands.

and now i realize that to my brother, i will always have to prove myself over and over again to have my accomplishments mean something. because i’m a girl and obviously what i do is not as important as what he does. it’s not as hard. it’s just child’s play.

he has repeated this mentality to me about so many historical women. the six wives. the schuyler sisters. the first female governor of alabama. marie curie.

and it just hurts. it hurts so much. becuase he’s my brother and he loves me but he can’t see how reducing these women hurt me. me and my mom have The Look so many times because no matter how much we try to explain he doesn’t want to hear it. he says “men have issues too so don’t tell me women are still oppressed” — as if one struggle invalidates another.

this is a rant post so this is jumbled and does not make sense but i’m mad so please indulge me this one time

went and saw SIX yesterday and im so happy i got this absolutely GOLDEN Cleves moment on video. honestly i think she was my favourite queen sorry boelyn

Basically a potential mock-up of an in-universe second album from Six, seeing as within the universe of the show they are a pop group.

I basically gave them eight songs, giving them the same layout of the current show without a Haus of Holbein as this album is more designed as being more abstract and less based in telling a literal story of their lives and more a general feeling. Also, it’s not in chronological order like they are presented, they’re out of order to let them express themselves a little more freely than “one of six”.

All these songs are also originally by other artists, but I have ideas for changing some of the lyrics around. I understand nothing of music however, so like they’re not great. If anyone wants to know about them, I’d be happy to share some thoughts.
