I don’t know what possessed me to write this but hand hcs about the queens:
Aragon’s hands are visibly older than the rest of the queens - clear veins, a couple of dark spots, more texture. I think she would keep her nails somewhat short and well maintained.
Boleyn gets her nails done often. She sees it as another form of self-expression and another opportunity to essentially decorate her body with art.
Seymour’s nails are always short because she bites them. The same goes for her skin around her nails. She tries painting her nails to kick the habit but it doesn’t go away until she find a way to manage her anxiety/give herself another way to fidget when she’s stressed out.
Cleves always has her nails done. She has them painted and layered with details and bobbles. She finds nail art to be enchanting and feels luxurious when she has her nails done. She is probably the reason Anne discovers nail art and is her primary inspiration.
Howard keeps her nails very short - for playing instruments as well as generally for comfort. I don’t think she would paint her nails or put much effort into making them look nice. She cuts them too short sometimes and her skin get dry and cracked from being exposed got her elements for long periods of time w/o moisturizer. The older queens (Aragon) mourn how poorly she treats her beautiful hands.
Parr cuts her nails short as well so she can play piano and type/write. (maybe she gets a tattoo or two)
