At what point in their lives did b&b individually realise they might be into girls?
Homophobia is something of an ancient relic in this story’s future confined to weird sects and cults. Encountering someone who holds a homophobic attitude in the 27th century is kind of like, today, encountering someone who believes the sun orbits a flat earth, or someone who’d attempt to burn a literate woman for witchcraft. The prevalence of gay and bi people in this future is largely because there’s no longer anyone making heterosexuality mandatory, so people don’t feel the need to hide it or try to change themselves for their own safety.
So with nobody telling her she was “supposed” to be straight, plus her entire family consisting of two gay moms and a bi older sister, Baltimore never really considered the possibility that she might not be into girls. She knew she was exclusively into girls early on in her schooling.
Beam also knew pretty early on. She always got flustered and nervous around pretty girls at school and found no charm whatsoever in any of the boys, so she knew she was gay pretty quickly upon meeting other children at school.
Send me more questions, beautiful people!!
