The headquarters is going to Utah. Every regional office is being shuttered. The research program is being destroyed.

And the institutional knowledge of the scientists who ran those programs walks out the door, because the administration damn well knows most of them won’t follow a forced relocation to a single consolidated office that has nothing to do with the ecosystems they’ve spent their careers studying.”

Call your senators. Both of them. Tell them the Forest Service reorganization is proceeding without the congressional approval required by Section 716 of the Agriculture Appropriations Act and Section 421 of the Interior Appropriations Act. Use those numbers. Say them out loud. Staffers write down what they don’t recognize, and these are the provisions their bosses voted for.

If your senator is a Republican, the question is simple: you voted for a law that requires USDA to get committee approval before reorganizing or relocating any office. USDA didn’t get that approval. Their own lawyers declared your law unconstitutional. What are you going to do about it?

If your senator is a Democrat, the question is just as simple: the legal basis for stopping this already exists. Where are the subpoenas? Where are the hearings? Why is USDA’s general counsel allowed to declare a duly enacted law unconstitutional by internal memo and face no consequences?

Make them answer. Make their staff write it down. Call back next week and ask what happened.

Where do these people come from that live in a parallel dimension where m/f ships are all about girl bosses and pegging and they’re so sick of it and need to see feminine women and masculine men and that’s actually super woke of them because well you see lots of people are masculinizing women of color for their ships with men and not letting them be feminine and only letting the men be feminine. Seriously where are these people from where are they seeing this. Because im a masculine woman of color and I don’t ever feel represented or desired and fandom spaces don’t seem to want people like me anywhere near their blorbos and sure they seem quite ready to see women who prefer to top go ahead and top women, and men who bottom can bottom for men, but if you have genuine interest in the other thing well gee it’s probably performative and lame and a lack of putting real work into your analysis of why you ship whatever this is and instead just tossing off a sex act descriptor (of course slash and femmeslash can toss off mentions of straps and hole and all willy nilly but if an m/f ship has a fan do this of course it’s performative)

on a whim I binged the first two seasons of Killing Eve over spring break, it was so good. some of the most insane onscreen chemistry ive ever seen

I think the next two seasons have much more mixed reviews? like to the point where people are warned to not watch the last season so they can preserve their fond memories of the show and characters? i loved s1 and s2 so much that I don't want to believe it gets bad, but...being a survivor of Whatever the Fuck Happened to a few other shows that started off with A+ writing and then become godawful at some point as though everyone involved mysteriously forgot how to tell their own story, i can believe it goes off some kind of cliff so i'll have to figure out where i want to stop watching and if i can bear not knowing whatever 'really happens' in the end if i decide to not finish watching it

god knows if anyone here remembers this but i used to be quite fond of davejade back in the day and had a, basically unique to me compared to anything else i ever shipped internal falling out with it. but it wasn’t the ships fault, its not that i ended up disliking it somehow. i just felt like i had to like stop thinking about it (and kind of the fandom in general) for my own good due to circumstances regarding an actual person .__. and i did lol, it just sort of vanished from my brain in a weird way ive been engaging with hs again lately and so have some friends, and one has been hinting that apparently postcanon stuff makes this a cursed and miserable ship that he hates to see. and this both makes me want to get into the postcanon material properly and also causes me some legitimate (based on my habits) fear i may do so and start shipping them again lmao (because there are ways for ships to be fucked up and cursed that are catnip to me)
