The last three dimensions she had poked her head into had been devoid of people entirely. What were the odds of that? (Perhaps they did exist, just in a form she couldn’t perceive, but either way it wasn’t much use to her research.) So when she finally found one that did have a person, she didn’t hesitate, mechanical arms wrapping around the figure and bringing him through to her side.

With a flick of one tentacle, the portal closed behind him, leaving him now properly in her laboratory.
