March for Our Lives
March for Our Lives
Yesterday’s conversation with the rheumatologist took an unexpected turn. “I need some positive energy,” he said. “The kids from Parkland are amazing. I’m going to the march to the State Capitol tomorrow.” The weather forecast called for heavy snow in Saint Paul. “I don’t care,” he said. He was going. No matter what! If you really want to see an end - an end for your daily sufferings, an end to your earthly qualms, an end to the fear of tomorrow, an end to your feelings of doubt, your vague interpretations of guilt and shame - if you want to end the problems you have began to feel overwhelmed with - - - well, darling, you'd only have one simple yet daring choice to do: Walk on. Carry on. Walk mightily, and carry yourself merrily, even if your knees are wobbly, your sight blurry, your heart and soul shaky. Let your feet lead away and let your feet keep on walking, no turning back. Because only by facing forward and moving forward can you survive and put a stop to all the darkness that is chasing you. You mustn't let it keep up and take hold of you. You are a light, a star, a blessed being that can shine only and only if you cling on to the light and walk towards it, head front, unafraid, willing to bend all strength. You are not meant for darkness, no matter how it seems appealing, comfortable. Even if it gives you the promise of peace and rest, it's a trap that you must overcome. You can only end your sufferings by going past it and letting go of the darkness that you are holding on to. Wobbly knees or chest filled with unease, you can end all frailing heartbeat if you walk on, walk on, walk on. #siyahamba
