In case there is a sizzling sandwich out there in want of a Tumblr Icon....
A unique twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich, with crispy seasoned bread on the outside and gooey cheddar cheese on the inside.
Ingredients: 4 slices of white bread. 4 slices of cheddar cheese. 2 tablespoons butter. 2 tablespoons mayonnaise. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder. 1/2 teaspoon onion powder. 1/4 teaspoon paprika.
Instructions: Spread mayonnaise on one side of each bread slice. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on the mayonnaise-covered side of two bread slices. Top each cheese-covered bread slice with another bread slice, mayonnaise side down. In a small bowl, mix together the butter, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Spread the seasoned butter mixture on the outside of each sandwich. Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the sandwiches in the skillet, buttered side down. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the bread is golden brown and crispy. Spread the remaining seasoned butter on the top side of each sandwich. Flip the sandwiches and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown. Remove from the skillet and let cool for a minute before slicing. Serve your reverse grilled cheese sandwiches hot and enjoy!
