International Games Day
We may be a day early, but we're not short on enthusiasm! The teens from my favorite St. Augustine High School class joined me and Miss Susan for a morning of fun and games.
We played Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders, and Go Fish. Tic-tac-toe and hopscotch were popular as well.
Some budding chalk artists drew on my walls!
Playstation 4 may have just arrived, but the classic games are here to stay. Young or old, then and now, there's nothing like a good game of tic-tac-toe.

Fear the Library
"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." Things certainly weren't dull at the Southeast Library on Halloween night.
Fear the Library is a game, a cross between Silent Library and Fear Factor. Teens entered our meeting room, which was magically transformed, complete with black lights, into a weird tribute to The Shining (awesome book, by the way!). Around the room were tables with red tablecloths draped over mystery challenges.
Teens took turns spinning a giant numbered spinner, which told them what their challenge would be. They did everything from eat bugs to toilet paper the library to dress each other up from my dress-up box.
In the end, the two people with the most completed challenges (tallied using Halloween candy) were challenged to eat the contents of some dirty diapers. In the linings of the diapers they found gift cards.
This was SO MUCH FUN!! I hope you can join us next year!
By the way, want to prank a friend with a dirty diaper? Get a CLEAN, disposable diaper and melt a chocolate bar in it. Sprinkle in some brownie crumbs and puff a little powdered sugar in for effect. A very yummy, if not nasty looking, treat.

Read to Rover @ Ancient City Kids Day
What a gorgeous day we had for such a fun event! Clifford, Oscar, and Cookie had a wonderful time reading with some of their favorite regular Read to Rover kids as well as meeting some friendly new faces.
Ancient City Kids Day is a yearly event that takes place downtown at Francis Field at the end of October. Vendors and organizations from all around the county come out to provide information, goodies, and fun for kids and their parents.
This year, our Southeast Library Read to Rover dogs were happy to join in the festivities - and give out lots of KISSES!!
Don't miss our next Read to Rover program @ the Southeast Branch on Saturday, November 9.
