Hi! :) Which dorms at yonsei are you staying at, SK Global or International house? What are some things you recommend about it and some things you dislike? I'm studying abroad in Yonsei this summer and housing applications open tomorrow so I'm deciding which one I want to stay in haha

Hey, I don’t actually live in the dorms, I live off campus. But I asked some people who are living in Sk Global and International house and this is what they said.

SK Global:- Newer- Bigger room, each room has own bathroom.- Double rooms don’t have a fridge but the single rooms do- “My only complaint is no fridges because everyone who uses the fridge in the basement gets their food stolen”

International House:- Cheaper- Fridge in each room- Shared kitchen and bathroom on each floor- Don’t pay money for toilet paper

Both have shared laundry facilities and no curfew, and they’re apparently not too strict.

I guess generally it depends on how comfortable you are with sharing a bathroom and stuff. I think living in the dorms gives you a feeling of having a community since everyone living there is in the same situation. I chose to live off campus because it’s cheaper and I like having freedom to come and go whenever I want and not having to worry about disturbing a sleeping roommate and stuff. I feel like living in the dorms kind of keeps you in the exchange student bubble too. If you have any more questions about Yonsei in general, feel free to ask me.

Yonsei University

Yonsei loves to play with my emotions. Waiting to find out if i got accepted, waiting to find out if my housing pass, waiting to find out if i can all my classes, im so stressed out all the time. And just when i turn in all the paper work and register for classes, i have to go live in a foreign country for 4 months 💀💀💀

I fucked up..

I am going abroad to South Korea this fall 2014, and the Housing for Yonsei just released the dorm acceptances today. 

I just realized that I put the wrong college I would be an exchange student with, and so I did not get accepted into the dorm. 

fml... I emailed them and talked to my own school, so now I just have to wait and see what will happen. I really need a dorm. ugh..

Has anybody else applied for Yonsei housing and still waiting to hear back even though we were supposed to be notified the 10th??

Got to my dorms!

I finally unpacked and realized thati needed some basic stuff to have in the dorm, like toliet paper, towels, and slippers for in the apt and for the shower and more things like that. And I just got all that for less that 20 usd... I love korea^^ I realized its the small things that count=)
