Spooky Scary Skater Boys (SK8 the Infinity)

Summary: After going through a haunted house at a Halloween-themed fair, Langa notices Miya is a little shaken up and tries to calm him down. Unfortunately Reki is less observant, but when he realizes Miya is being serious he uses his own methods to cheer his friend up again.

A/N: Look look look I know this title is super cheesy but it came to me while I was writing this and it just works so well and I mean - how could I not?? This is simultaneously one of my best and worst titles to date. I'm honestly really proud of myself. Anyway, enjoy! ^^

“Are you sure you’re up for this, Miya?” Reki asked teasingly, nudging the smaller boy as they inched closer to the darkened house with flashing purple lights and the odd scream from inside. “This might be a little scary for young kids~”

“Shut it, slime,” Miya snapped. “I’m almost thirteen. I can handle a stupid haunted house. These things aren’t even that scary. It’s all spooky props and cheap jumpscares.”

“If you say so~”

“I think you’re more likely to be scared than he is, Reki,” Langa offered. “Remember when we went to those hot springs and got split up? There was that cat that was sitting on a statue and you hid behind me—”

“Okay, okay, okay!” The redhead flailed his arms in a “stop talking about it!” gesture. “I get it, Miya won’t be scared. Whatever.” He stuffed his hands in his pockets as the lined moved forward, muttering, “The whole point is to be scared. It’s no fun if it’s boring.”

Miya glared up at him but said nothing more. He’d been to haunted houses before but never with anyone older than him. His old group of “friends” – if they could even be called that – would either get scared together or walk out laughing; there was never an in-between. Miya could fake it either way. He didn’t care, as long as he got to hang out with them.

But with Reki and Langa it was different. They were both older and both people he considered true friends, and Miya was determined to prove he couldn’t be bothered by anything inside the haunted house. He usually wasn’t anyway. How hard could it be?

An hour later, Miya sat at a picnic table with his slice of pumpkin pie in front of him, staring at it blankly. Langa sat across from him. Reki had gotten up to use the bathroom. The fair was mostly emptied out at this point; it would be closing soon, but they’d decided to get some overpriced, thematic food before heading home. Miya was so lost in thought he didn’t realize Langa was calling his name until the blue-haired boy waved his hand over his pie to get his attention.

“Wha-huh?” he blinked, jumping a little. “What?”

“Dude…are you okay?” Langa asked, genuine concern in his eyes. “You’ve been glaring at that pie for five minutes already. Did the haunted house freak you out?”

Miya retorted on autopilot. “No!”

There was a brief pause. Then, in a softer voice, Langa asked, “Was it the clowns?”

Just the memory of those creepy, evil-looking clowns with melted faces and demented smiles made Miya cower in his seat. He put his head in his hands to hide his face. “They weren’t that bad.”

“Really? They scared me.” Langa said it so casually that Miya had to look up at him. Langa shrugged. “What? They’re creepy. Especially when you think they’re just automatons and then they jump out at you.”

“Right?!” Miya exclaimed before he could stop himself. “I swear those things were made of plastic!” Then he caught himself, widened his eyes, and slumped in his seat. “Okay, so…so they were a little scary.”

“You’re not alone. And it’s okay to be scared, you know.”

“Not according to Reki.”

“Reki just likes messing with you. You know he’d never actually make fun of you if he knew they legitimately scared you, right?”

Miya shrugged. “I don’t know.”

Langa frowned, glancing up just as Reki came back from the bathroom, plopping into the seat to Miya’s left. The redhead wasted no time in digging into his pumpkin pie. “What’d I miss?”

Another brief pause. “Miya and I were just talking about the clowns in the haunted house.”

“Oh, yeah? They were kind of cheesy, weren’t they?”

“They freaked me out.”

“Seriously?”

Langa’s eyes slid to Miya, who shook his head a second too late. “They scared Miya, too.”

Reki paused mid-bite, looked at Miya, and laughed. He nudged him. “Seriously? The clowns? Dude, I thought you said it was all props and cheap jumpscares!”

Miya turned his back to Reki, swiping his plate off the table so he could eat without looking at him. “See? Told you he’d make fun of me.”

“You’re the one who was all cocky about not being scared of anything,” Reki continued, grabbing his shoulder to pull him around to face him again. “I think it’s only fair I get to tease you a little—” He stopped short when he saw tears in the younger boy’s eyes. “…oh.” His heart began to pound nervously. “Oh. I, uh…I guess you’re being serious, huh?”

Langa frowned at him. “Are you going to make fun of me for being scared of them, too?”

“No! No, of course not! I – I didn’t realize…I guess I still thought you were joking around,” Reki mumbled, looking embarrassed and apologetic. “I’m…I’m really sorry, Miya.”

Miya jerked out of his hold. “Whatever.”

“Langa, I’m sorry. Seriously.”

“I know you are,” Langa sighed, getting up from the table to walk around to Miya, crouching down to meet his gaze. “It’s okay, dude. Reki knows you’re being serious, so he’s being serious now, too. Right, Reki?”

“R-Right!” Reki stammered, trying to figure out a way to handle this situation. “I didn’t know they legit scared you, bro. I was just joking around, being dumb about it. I’m sorry. For real.”

Miya was silent for a moment. He put his plate back on the table, pie untouched. He glanced up at Langa, meeting his eyes. “I’m…I’m still kind of scared,” he admitted quietly. “I don’t want to go home alone.”

“We’ll take you,” Langa and Reki replied in unison, grinning at each other over Miya’s head. Langa ruffled his hair. “It’s okay to be scared. Remember, the clowns freaked me out, too. You’re not the only one.”

“Miya, look at me,” Reki tried, but Miya crossed his arms. The redhead wrapped him in a hug from behind, smooshing his cheek into his hair. “I’m sorry, really. Langa’s right. It’s okay to be scared.”

“That’s good to know,” Miya grumbled, “coming from the scaredy-cat in the group.”

“Whaaaat?” Reki teased, sliding his hands down to Miya’s ribs and poking gently. “I’m not that big of a wimp.”

Miya jolted, surprising the redhead for a split second until a new, mischievous idea popped into his head. He curled his fingers a little harder, tickling a little more intentionally. “Come onnn, you know you want to forgive me~”

“N-No! I dohohohon’t!” Miya squeaked, struggling in his hold. “Let me gohoho!”

Langa smiled up at him, gently squeezing his knees. “Maybe we can help you feel less scared if we take your mind off of it for a bit.”

“Nehehehehehe! Reheheheki! Langa, nohohohoho!” Miya squirmed and tried to fight back, but Reki had his arms hooked under his armpits, making it impossible for him to bring his hands down to pry him away or push Langa off. His giggles grew more consistent the more they tickled, making him blush bright pink. “Stohohohohohohop it!”

“Tickle, tickle, tickle~” Reki murmured into his ear just as Langa found the two bad spots on the sides of his knees, making Miya buck and let out a shriek of hysterical cackles. “Aw, is the big, brave boy a little ticklish?”

“Shuhuhuhuhut up! Y-You’re more tihihihihicklish than mehehehehehe!”

Reki gasped dramatically, reaching his hands around to Miya’s belly and digging into the soft flesh there. “How dare you call me out like that!”

“Nahahahahahahaha!” Miya tossed his head back and laughed, squirming even harder, his inability to get away somehow making him more sensitive. Langa clawed up from his knees to his thighs, making him curse at them between cackles before breaking down into a long, unstoppable fit of giggles. “Lehehehehehehemme go! You slihihihihimes are gohohonna regret – NAHAHAHAHAHA!!”

“Ooh, found your belly button!” Reki teased.

Miya thrashed in his hold but got nowhere fast. “STOHOHOHOHOHOP IT!! PLEHEHEHEHEHEASE, REHEHEHEHEKI, DON’T TIHIHIHIHICKLE ME THEHEHEHERE!!”

Reki grinned. “Oh! So it’s okay if I tickle you…here?” He shot his hands into Miya’s underarms, making the smaller boy flop back into his chest as he finally clamped his arms down, laughing and nearly kicking poor Langa in the face.

“STOHOHOHOHOHOHOP, STOP, STOP!! PLEHEHEHEHEHEASE!! I GEHEHEHET IT YOU’RE SOHOHOHOHOHORY I FORGIHIHIHIHIVE YOU!! PLEHEHEHEHEASE!!”

Reki gradually lightened his touch, but Langa continued to squeeze and scribble at Miya’s thighs until the younger skater was babbling pleas for mercy from him as well, at which point both of them let up entirely and allowed him to catch his breath.

Miya gasped for air, too tickled out to care that he was still lying against Reki’s chest. “Y-You both…suck so much…”

“Happy to help, dude.” Reki pinched his sides again, and Miya yelped and flew upward so he was sitting on his own, arms wrapped around his torso protectively. “And I’m sorry again.”

“Yeah, yeah…I know, slime.” Miya shot him a tired smile. “Jerk.”

Reki decided to let that one go, instead latching onto a different idea. “You know, clowns are supposed to be funny. They’re supposed to make you laugh like we just did.”

“Whatever you’re planning, I don’t want any part of it!” Miya cried, starting to jump up but stopped by Reki pulling him back down into his lap, scribbling over his sides again. “No, plehehehease!”

“Maybe the next time we come across creepy clowns like that, Langa and I can tickle you so you feel less scared of them!”

“You’d have to do that for me, too,” Langa reminded him. “The clowns scared me as much as they did Miya.”

“All right, so I’d tickle each of you with one hand,” Reki declared, shifting so he could awkwardly grab Langa and pull him closer, beginning to tickle him, too. With both of his friends giggling helplessly at his touch, the redhead suddenly felt a surge of excitement and he beamed at them. “I know! Let’s watch IT when we get home – both parts! That way you can get over your fear of clowns and I can tickle you some more!”

Langa and Miya squirmed and squealed in his grasp, protesting, laughing both from the tickling and how silly this had all become. “Nohohohohohohoho!”

Reki beamed, undeterred. “I think it’s an awesome idea! That’s it – we’re having a movie night! Get ready to laugh that fear of clowns away!”

pffft Ponti would get in touch with his gator side and practice lurking n scaring ppl with tail slaps ( that or im debating on him just sinking like a rock bc of his sheer weight idk yetttt) Abby would get free exclusive coral knowledge with Oscar taking him everywhere yappin

then ofc the classic Kari pic where she basically flies up and dive bombs but shed probably wear a swim cap so her hair doesnt drag her down

Remy probably wouldnt go in the water cause he doesnt want to take off his hat lmfaoo hed probably just be loungin with Ollie until Oscar drags him in at some point

Vinnys no better than an overly affectionate house cat esp. with Ollie he will get All up in their businesses :3 Kari can and does do a full body run and jump hug on Ollie full wing wrap around everythang; Remy does the stiff side hug hes one of them touch starved 'dont touch me' type dudes😞; Oscar is typically forbidden from hugging bc of his slime but if they have a beach day then they'll get all their hugs in with him then; Kari typically gives wing hugs she saves all her arm action for Ollie; Abbys typically pretty stiff too but he'll loosen up quick if someone hugs him first; Ponti makes it a goal if someone makes the mistake of hugging him to pop a few bones in the process 🦴(xcept abby ofc)

i'm sure you've described them before but i can't find anything on it so, could you describe the skate squad's powers if they have any?

idk if would say powers moreso just abilities BUT

Ponti with his HUGE ARMS can smash rip tear crunch squish impale ect. his bigass tail can put a hurtin too he can easily hold down a body under there, His ears can hear for miles if he really focuses, and finally his infamous death roll which is basically a gator death roll where they latch onto a limb and twirl tf outta their body

Abios eye has a bunch of phycological powers (oops) and can infiltrate the frontal lobe and get into someones head, see memories (spoiler alerttttttt 👀👀), and can manipulate feelings by controlling the brains chemical production, and probably a lot of other cool brain stuff i gotta get back on my neuroscience im rusty 😔 his eyelashes also emit pheromones that aid in all his succubs stuff but its close range

Ollie n his big brute strength ofc the fact that orcs are naturally super buff n strong but also his demon features where he does the thing similar to Gandalf when he makes the room all dark and terrifying when he's not fuckin around (it was heavily inspired by that) Ollie can make a room go cold and dark from his '''aura'' for lack of better word. His presence gives you the same chills as seeing a ghost and makes you hallucinate ect. That why when he does that ppl typically get too caught up in their body's fight or flight overdrive to be able to think clearly. I'd like to think he gives off Large Animal presence like as if u were in front of a horse or lion and that feeling is amplified when hes indoors lmfao AND he can also 'get in the head' as well like he can say some demonic shit that echoes off of the inside of the skull and can shake the very core of the soul (probably sounds like Sauron in tha head)

Kariiii has her dragon fire that's super hot and glittery so she can be a lil master of illusion if she wants. I'm thinking abt giving her gecko hands n feet so maybe she can climb on walls too if not she can still climb with her wing claws. She can lick her eyeballs and shes also got some fairy pizzaz that kinda works like a special 'aura' as well. She does have a hoarding pink things problem but she makes sure its at least presentable for the most part pfft

Remy oh bOI he doesn't have much goin for him but i think hes kinda got what Ollie's got just to a miniscule extent like he can make the room feel uneasy if he's all sulky and angsty but its only enough to mildly scare or irritate not so much 'strike fear into the hearts of men' cause hes also got that everlasting shadow over the eyes

he can climb like a monkey with his tail ( so can Abby) so ig he's rlly good at parkour

Oscar's got his slime that can be a blessing or a curse when it comes to sticky situations and in the water he's kinda a menace he is SUPER agile and uses his ears for fins when he swims. He's got a 2nd jaw in his mouth for grabbing prey and those teeth carry a nasty bite

Vinny may be soft n fluff but he's also got his lil needle claws and teeth and can be really flexible and agile as well cause son cats WILL fuck u up when theyre angry

hmmm ig the only 'roomates' are the couples tbh cause

Ollie lives in his own house and Kari basically lives there too but she does have an apartment that she rarely goes to since she got with Ollie but sometimes they take turns spending the night at eachothers places

Remy still lives with his mom (FREEHIMFREEHIMFREEHIM) but luckily his mom is a little less shitty than she was but he still goes straight to his room and stays in there as long as possible

Abby lives with his parents and Ponti stays there ALOT but he also lives in an abandoned shipping container yard where he has 3 of them stacked up to make a house

Vinny lives with his momma and Oscar just lives in the ocean and im thinking maybe he resides in a biiig ass underwater tube somewhere or the coral reef

mmm well Ollie welds for his '''real job''' plus he just makes a fuckload of weapons even if its illegal to use them where he is pffft Remy plays video games ALOT and probably has a streaming channel, i feel like Oscar is part of an underwater club where they nerd out over sunken structures and tour sunken ships, planes ect. Abby does a lot of medical research as well as space, Kari likes to perfect her baking skills as well as experiment with recipes, Ponti does random shit everyday and has the craziest stories cause hes just a lizard in a city hes still trying to figure out his life aside from skateboarding lmao, Vinny plays video games a lot too or practices for his band class 🎺

naw his psychological powers and his whole succubus thing is all hes got and he's the only one in the squad who can do that🤔 Ponti just has brute strength and Ollie has his Scary Demon Aura and incubus thing that makes the brain produce certain chemicals, Kari's got her lil fairy charm but its nothing too mind altering, Remy doesnt have anything goin on, Vinny is just a cat/lion and Oscar is just eel boy 🐍
