Aona: It's Pride Month, Skai, you know what that means.
Skai: (glancing up from a pile of messily scrawled plans) Huh. What. Do you want me to, like, kill god homosexually?

thinking about Sel's shards as opposing maternal forces. dominion as in, "you are mine, and so I will destroy everything that stands in your way." devotion as in, "I am yours, and so I will sacrifice all that I have for you."
happy pride month, specifically to Skaona, who really need this win right about now
You know what I'm asking. You know exactly what everyone has in mind when they think of "that-androgynous-lightweaver". There is literally only one option that's possible.
Fourth Bridge
In case you want the non joke option, Skai/Aona
simply out of pure spite for that first paragraph, I am going to answer both 😎
THE FOURTH BRIDGE:
It doesn't need me to ship it, Shreek. It ships itself. Through the air. And we love it for that. 16/16
Every ship should fly!!! Isn't that the whole reason behind wingfics?? It simply never peaks.
Okay it's one AM again and I've run out of ship-related dad jokes. Ah well. This is all you're getting.
SKAONA:
YES. (In fact this is the only romantic ship off of Scadrial I actually like.) I cannot for the life of me remember if anything in particular made me ship them, so I will simply refer to 2.
My favorite thing about them is the idea of them struggling to fight the Shards' influences, and then eventually getting manipulated into betraying each other anyway. It's just so fucking devastating 🌞
Eh.... it's a femslash ship between two minor characters, which pretty much makes any opinion unpopular by definition. If anything, I suppose it would be that they are far more interesting to me if they never got together. Especially if the feelings were one-sided. We know basically nothing about the two of them, so this is fully personal headcanon here. But: Skai is very bullheaded to me; as I've been writing her, she comes out very ambitious but also somewhat obsessive. She dedicated her life to her work and didn't spare much attention for anything outside of it. Aona, on the other hand, is very much a follower. I mean, Devotion, so obviously -- but I love the idea of her following Skai to Sel, all the while knowing that they would never be what she wanted them to. Very much normal about them 🌚
