We're all used to Hollywood's endlessly self-perpetuating extravagant dynasties packed with countless nepo babies. A few famous names have probably already come to mind.

The family's patriarch, Stellan Skarsgård, is one of the iconic actors who broke out of Sweden and established a lasting presence in international cinema. His career began with Swedish productions, evolved into dark, unsettling, yet unforgettable roles in Lars von Trier's films, and eventually led him to Hollywood.

The fact that Stellan Skarsgård and his eldest son, Alexander Skarsgård, are both generating awards-season buzz for different films has once again put the Skarsgård family in the spotlight.

Don't let his baby face fool you – Bill is a true scream king. Today, he's one of the most recognizable members of the Skarsgård family. His performances as the child-eating clown Pennywise and the vampire Nosferatu made him one of the defining faces of modern horror cinema.

In recent years, the "nepo baby" debate has practically become a genre of its own. Who truly earned their success? Whose career was opened by family connections? The Skarsgårds have been part of that conversation too – but in a positive way. Someone (I can’t find the post now) said that all the Sec Units on Murderbot could be played by a different Skarsgard. I know the fandom would hate this, since there are so many angry posts about a white man playing MB. … but it made me laugh harder than was warranted. Maybe this was why all along! They were all made from cloned tissue.

Stellan Skarsgard has eight kids. I thought it was six but apparently there are new ones with his second wife. He’s mass producing them like The Company.
