“Dogtown, USA” is the opening piece in the new issue of Fluke. A story I wrote about being a young spectator of the skateboard scene that revolved around Paige Hearn’s ramp from 1985 into the next decade. I was lucky enough to watch legends such as Tony Hawk, Christian Hosoi, Steve Caballero, Lance Mountain, Neil Blender, Jeff Grosso, Chris Miller and many more skate this ramp. There wasn’t a whole lot else going on at the time for a kid in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Aside from the arcade/pool hall across the street, of course. There was a time before computers, digital cameras and Instagram when humans moved around dragging X-acto knives, rulers and T-squares and creating these crude handmade Xeroxed things called Skate Zines. This is the master copy of front and back covers of the one I did called Air Photozine back in 1984 or so. I finished 2 and a half issues and made enough to distribute to 50 or so friends. With analog publishing on the decline, I encourage young people to get their photos printed on paper, break out the scissors and glue and start self publishing. It's time to wish you all a very happy 2026 ! For me, this new year will be an opportunity to release issue 2 of my fanzine "Shove it", experimenting even more with graphic techniques, and this time with a new dominant colour… It's up to you to guess which one !

K7 collector, “Green Mixtape“

J'ai réalisé une compilation sur K7 pour la sortie du premier numéro de Shove it, une sorte d'objet collector. La playlist, ce sont des groupes et des artistes que j'ai écouté lors de la conception du fanzine, avec comme particularité que les pochettes des albums sélectionnées sont dans des tons verts, à l'image du fanzine.

I created a compilation on cassette tape for the release of the first issue of Shove it, a sort of collector's item. The playlist features bands and artists I listened to while designing the fanzine, with the unique feature that the album covers I selected are in shades of green, just like the fanzine.
