I think I love Skaziver (Kaz, Skylar, and Oliver) so much because they balance each other.

Kaz and Oliver are soulmates, they always have been, but they also repel one another. Kaz is fire. He burns with passion and acts without thinking. Oliver is ice. He overthinks everything and pushes people away. They love each other, but fire and ice have a hard time existing together.

And then there’s Skylar.

She’s neither fire or ice, and she weathers their storms without issue. She burns and she freezes, and she can hold both their hands on their worst power days and not flinch. She’s their rock, and when the day comes where she needs to rely on them, they hold her up. She’s the barrier for petty arguments before they can become biting, and the gentle voice that pulls them from their heads. They’re her boys, and she’s their girl.

A collection of my Mighty Med headcannons

Oliver

- Bridget was very overprotective. Oliver wasn’t allowed to walk home, bathe alone, make his own food, etc until he was ten and still had restrictions

- He did have nannies, but they were constantly replaced for not being up to his mothers standards.

- Bridget only let him watch shows with questionable morals and would quiz him on proper ways to react on situations, he always failed because he was too nice. The trolly problem gave him nightmares.

- She forced him to take self defense classes, though he hated it. She Süd- the excuse of him being the son of a large business owner and therefore a possible target.

- After her reveal he threw himself into training and became very fit, for reasons he wasn’t quite sure of. Perhaps as a way to prove to himself he didn’t need her, or proof her indoctrination stayed with him.

- Demisexual

- Hero worship is a hell of a thing. He fell in love with Skylar Storm, but he eventually learned that a hero was more than a comic book. Skylar was a person, and she deserved to be more than her persona. He still loves her, but he’s still learning who she is. In a way Skylar is still his crush, but Connie is his friend.

- He was never allowed pets and had an ingrained fear of most animals. Kaz helped with that, since he felt the compulsion to let every animal he saw. (including wild ones)

- Oliver has a Kalderin medical textbook in development as a side hobby, since one doesn’t exist. He plans to eventually spend a few months staying on planet to study when he has the time. He wants Gus to do the art and diagrams but can’t think of a convincing lie yet.

- He visits his mom in prison regularly, but he always is a mess after and Kaz eventually convinces him to do letters instead aside from holidays.

- Oliver was terrified of everything as a child, convinced that every person wanted to take him away and every shadow was a monster. His mother had convinced him that no one could be trusted. It was meeting Kaz that changed his life, being introduced to a world where good triumphed over evil. He still had ingrained anxiety and paranoia, but Kaz is a security blanket.

- He and Kaz definitely designed hero costumes and both were grumpy about their mission suits.

- (Suggested by hyrdobromia) Oliver is germaphobic and is grossed out by dirty dishes and garbage. He can do them with gloves, but Kaz volunteers to do them for him. Oliver is the only person he’ll do chores for.

- Oliver’s step dad disappeared suddenly a few months before his mom started dating Horace. At first he thought he ditched them as his mother said, but now he wonders if his mom killed him. He also wonders in his old Nannies and instructors were actually fired.

- Bridget was always an overbearing mother, but when he turned eight she took a turn for the worse, becoming suffocating. He’d later learn this was when she first overtook Argento’s empire.

- He and Gus first met at a boring rich person function their parents were involved in.

Kaz

- Kaz is a strange, strange boy

- He can’t spell his full names and doesn’t know his middle name.

- He has an amazing memory, but only for information he deems important (comic books) and can’t memorize anything else (schoolwork)

- He and Oliver study medical textbooks on their off time, both normo and superhero ones. He does manage to pay attention since this job is his dream.

- He grew up in a bilingual household with a lot of loud Spanish yelling, and while he doesn’t normally speak Spanish, he tends to when arguing. He associates it with anger and Oliver is working to get him to speak it outside of that context. He often forgets he knows Spanish at all.

- He definitely tries too hard to be seen, a survival tactic of being a middle child of eleven kids.

- He doesn’t have a good relationship with his older siblings aside from one sister and his brother in jail and tries to be a good big brother to his younger siblings. He took care of them a lot as babies, but now that they’re older he feels lost.

- He’s been to juvie, but seeing his mother cry snapped him out of it. He didn’t want to be the next kid to go to jail.

- It was probably tagging or breaking and entering, a minor crimes from a teenager trying to cause trouble.

- His juvenile probation officer was proud. His family had a reputation in the system, and he was the only one to not reoffend so far.

- Bisexual as hell, but not super interested in dating after Sparks.

- He introduced Ollie to comics when they were kids, they’ve been besties since.

- His favorite animals are pigs.

- He can quote every line from every Tecton movie and can watch them scene for scene in his head and often does in class.

- He is slightly radioactive? It’s not harmful and he probably licked the wrong thing. Gamma girl fist bumps him in solidarity.

- Kaz hoards food. A habit from a competitive household that he can’t break . He usually doesn’t even eat from that stash unless he has to (other food too far away) but always replaces it. Oliver knows not to touch and the others quickly learn.

- Kaz does actually write fan fiction but working at the hospital made it a tiny bit awkward.

- Kaz has crushed on so many superheroes, and megahertz, because duh. This includes Captain Atomic and Tecton.

- Kaz can and will eat anything, meanwhile Oliver has food sensitivities.

Skylar

- She has cute little alien quirks and is in no way disgusting. Oliver writes them all down which Skylar thinks is weird but sweet.

- She pretends to be far more confused then she actually is, she’s devious and will use fake innocence for evil

- She googles everything, not trusting the ‘normal human customs’ she’s told until the oracle of Google confirms. She didn’t quite understand how it works and considers it a deity.

- She had wildly different taste receptors than a human and the boys have a challenge to create the weirdest dishes for her to try. Her current favorite is spicy Raman and ketchup.

- She loves spicy food, and all the local ethnic restaurants know to give her the good stuff. She learned their respective languages and they love her.

- In the morning English can be difficult, meaning communication is near impossible for several hours. She has a universal translator, but she tries not to rely on it much anymore. Oliver tries to learn the language, but his accent is horrible.

- Her boys are important to her.

- (Hydrobromic) Skylar loves reality tv and she forces the boys to watch it with her, they pretend to hate but actually get super into it. They have a special time dedicated to it and will throw popcorn at the TV-Sat (she thinks popcorn throwing is a human custom and it delights her)

- Alan is her asshole little brother and she can’t help but love him in a ‘I’d throw you off a bridge but also I’d kill anyone who throws you off a bridge’ kinda thing.

The Trio

- The trio are basically soulmates and rely heavily on each other

- They have very specific rituals exclusive to them that nobody is allowed in on.

- They are all technically married on Kaldera and they don’t really talk about it? The Davenports are baffled the more they learn.

- Skylar takes over teaching them about having powers and while she’s sad, she’s happy for them. She isn’t perfect since she was born with her powers, but she does her best.

Kaziver

- They are extremely cuddly and most people in their life think they’re dating, including everyone in the hospital.

- Eventually they realize they kinda had been dating for a few years and didn’t know it.

- Cuddling was hard at first after they got their powers, constantly fluctuating on temperature and burning each other, but they eventually figured it out and found perfect balance

- Oliver’s love language is words of affirmation. His mothers parenting left him with anxiety, paranoia, and a complex. Kaz constantly works to show him that the world isn’t a bad place and that he’s stronger than he thinks.

- Kazimeras’ love language is physical touch. He definitely wasn’t hugged enough as a child and is clingy. Oliver doesn’t mind and is so used to receiving and giving affection he hardly notices anymore. Kaz is a major cuddler in his sleep.

Elite Force

- (In the universe MM was destroyed) The boys couldn’t sleep well after the tragedy, and eventually learned they could only sleep curled up together. Skylar joins them when she can’t sleep, the center to their super sandwich. The davenports notice, but don’t bring it up.

- Both Kaz and Olive grew up without privacy, so the concept is a little alien to them. To be fair, Bree and Chase don’t have a proper grasp of it either and Skylar had no concept of human modesty before earth. (The use of swimsuits baffles her, Oliver soul leaves his body as they scramble to correct her.) (on the opposite side they know nothing of ceremonial dress and she makes them learn for events they stand at her home.)

- The three have a plan to rebuild and run Mighty Med, but they are still young and lost in grief. Rebuilding will the painful and nobody is ready yet. In the meantime they assist smaller superhero hospitals with the overflow.

- Both boys confessed separately to Skylar about liking each other, which forced her to try and get them together. She watched a lot of rom coms during that time.

- Horace used to think beatboxing was a normo attack mechanism. Kaz doesn’t beatbox anymore, it makes him sad.

Where Skylar is an alien accidentally stuck on earth and Kaz and Oliver are med students trying to get by, and their worlds collide.

(An alien a little less human looking, enough to be noticeable, but human passing. Maybe cute lil antenna they have to hide.)

She’s very oblivious and amazed by everything while comparing it to her home, but also badass and a warrior on her planet. She has no idea of human customs and has lots of quirks.

Oliver wants to help her and keep her safe, Kaz just wants to be a college student and not get hunted down by the government. (He’s also jealous, normally he’d be down to hide an alien from the government)

As med students they’re older and less rash, but still the same boys under the exhaustion and loan debt.

They have a wacky emotional adventure where they all see the good in each other and run from the government goons she escaped from (the annihilator? Villains? Horace?) and trying to get her home.

Will she stay? Will she leave? What do they discover about themselves? Who knows! Endgame Skaziver.
