My thoughts on the HHN No-Boo necklaces 👇

As a scare actor, obviously I love including everyone in haunts. Accommodations are not the reason most haunt fans are upset at the news...

The reason why the necklaces are even happening is likely to give parents a reason to allow their kids to do the FNAF house with them.

The problem with having more kids at the event is more parents complaining about the scary park scaring their kids or offending them somehow (I wouldn't be saying this if it hasn't happened. Protective parents have threatened my life before).

The fear is that eventually HHN will try to tone down the event to stop dealing with parent complaints. It has happened at other haunts before.

But I still also completely understand that some people want to enjoy the spooky atmosphere. The only thing is that HHN isn't really about the traditional Halloween spooky fun you're after. Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party (which I also adore) absolutely is! But Halloween Horror Nights puts the emphasis on HORROR. Literal murder scenes with gore, fog, and strobe lights. But I can still understand if you just want to enjoy those scenes, too. That's what the sidewalks are for!

Again though, I need to stress, that obviously there's nothing wrong with accommodations. Every time I do a haunted house with friends, I make sure to bring supplies to help if someone gets overstimulated. When I see little kids being shy or timid around the monsters, I do my best to welcome them in the way my character would! Halloween is for everyone!

But at the same time, my heart goes out to the actors over at HHN this season. Not even because of the arguments those necklaces will cause, but because of the kinds of crowds they're going to be dealing with.

Now I'm not gonna parade around any sort of anger towards this new route HHN is taking. I probably won't even bring it up again- because as long as people handle this news responsibly and respectfully, then there wasn't even any issue in the first place! I'm a hopeless optimist (which is a little ironic as a dedicated scare actor), so I'm glad that more people can be involved, but I'm also incredibly cautious at the dangers this might start- not just for the other actors, but the guests as well.

But if you were wondering why people have been upset about the news, there you have it!

Lmao had a convo with that job interviewer and told her I'm trans and she hasn't emailed me back and it's been like an hour. They joys of being pre-T and pre-name change. Technically it's illegal but I should have a final answer by sometime next week so we shall see.

Like I get that I could have waited until I was already hired but if that's what it took to decide they didnt want me after getting this far in the process then I honestly don't want to work there anyway fam. I have more self respect than that.
