me and another friend are planning to start making a webcomic together and I wanted to ask how do you go about writing and, deciding for ideas together in a team?? regardless of my situation, now that I think about it, this is a very interesting question! about skeptical's team progress I mean!
starting out, it was just a silly role play that we just kept adding on to over time; both story wise and character wise! there was a Lot of retconning within the rp itself and comparing it to the comic now, literally nothing is the same, but it was still a good place to start for us imo!
then after high school we stopped rping it due to just not having any more time to do so and went on to just sort of discussing it more seriously when it came to actual comic stuff? but a lot of our favorite ideas have been born from us just going “WHAT IF THIS WILD THING HAPPENED” or “I JUST MADE THIS RAD CONNECTION AND IM GONNA YELL IT AT YOU RIGHT NOW”. and just sort of having fun with it and bouncing whatever ideas/dialogue we have off of each other when we hang out!
I really feel like a big part of making it work out is just being honest!! sometimes I’ll suggest something and Kate will be like “that doesn’t make sense and here’s why” and vice versa! it’s really good to have someone else to keep u in check. I get really impatient with making long term stories like skeptical for instance and Kate rly helps me to slow it down and look at the big picture (and to also check pages for me before I post them when she’s free from work and school lol).
