Where has the time gone! My little human is two months old! . . . He now weighs 4 lbs and 14 oz! He takes 44 ml (~1.5 oz), has eaten between 20-40% of his feedings by mouth. Latches like a pro. And loves to poop in the middle of changing his diapers, not just one but twice usually! . . . Yesterday he got his two-month immunizations, and he handled it like a champ! I shed a fear tears because I hate seeing him cry. She's such a dedicated mom despite having a hard time of things. Luckily, she already has a wonderful forever home lined up for when her babies are weaned and old enough to separate. For anyone who hasn't picked up the story, Persephone here was bought at a shady Indianapolis pet store along with some siblings as pets for a small child. When Persephone was found one morning with a broken knee joint they spent a week waffling on getting her a needed amputation. They decided they couldn't afford it for "just a rat" and our vet contacted us to see if they could point her toward us to receive humane care. When the people showed up to surrender her, she was obviously pregnant, and the family admitted she had already had a litter before because her brother was missexed at shady pet store and is an escape artist.
