Skipping winter and going straight to spring for the 2018 VCGP @tyga_114 #vcgp #mxtrophies #skippingwinter (at Virginia City, Nevada)
[Backlog!] Waterpost No. 19 for Dan - Praia Imbassaí, Bahia. This napping father got up halfway through me drawing his hand, but I actually kind of love this painting. Almost as surreal as the coconut trees swaying their hips, framing the river that flows into the sea.
Waterpost 18 for Jonno - Praia Imbassai, Bahia - Coconuts really do make everything better. After a particularly bumpy week I left Salvador and headed to the small beach towns north of the city. I sat and swam and drew, and captured tiny minnows in a plastic cup with my new 5 year old friend.
Rock Tumbler
Last month, Josh Van Vliet something that bouyed my heart - "It´s either a good time or a good story." Well, i guess I´ve been racking up the stories.
After a weekend of being down two phones, down one bag of my watercolor supplies for the Waterpost project, down one hurt hand AND painting AND the realization that my replacement debit card sent-from-the-US-by-housemates-after-Brasilian-bank-fraud was actually EXPIRED and I had only exactly R$5.50, i have been asking some veeeery interesting spiritual questions on security, money, home, priviledge/dignity. And yesterday, after taking care of hungry-angry-lonely-tired, sitting by the ocean and reaching out for support, I saw the web of it. How this Rock Tumbler of the Soul is certainly the next step in fashioning me into a woman of greater compassion, greater understanding, greater companionship in my place in the family of things. I´m even almost at the point to say thank you. Almost.
Saying eternal thank you´s already to Osmar, Austin, Gefferson, Nanci, Michael and Jessilyn for being on the other end of the line. Oh and the nice guy at Chase bank who stuck with me for 30 minutes on Skype while we shouted back and forth "What? Can you repeat that number again?"
Camera-less now, drawings will be slower to trickle in! But are, nevertheless, being drawn. :)
Played my little heart out last night at Maracatu Brasil, with CaBloco Muderno. Listen close and you can hear their arrangement of Hey Jude. The leader was hilarious- we kept messing up the intro of other song, and after a few tries he said, "Quasi ruim, ta."/ We've almost gotten up to bad. #brasil #skippingwinter #music
