I knew about the packaging change, but they changed the eye colour too? From neon green to dark green to match the movie I guess?
“Mommy?”
Dark Hunters: Fero and Skirmix
When I descended onto the scorching sands of Bara Magna in the wake of Makuta’s Fall and the Greater Cataclysm, I was struck by the sheer inhospitality of my surroundings. The heat offended me on a personal level, and if it weren’t for my superior will, I might have collapsed to the ground then and there. How could any being survive in that parched, infernal wasteland?
As it turned out, some beings did survive there, and some even thrived. Fero is an example of the latter. He and his people, the Bone Hunters, were driven into the desert as outcasts in the Time Before Time, and have survived ever since as nomads, raiders, and mercenaries. Eager for conquest, they had briefly allied with the Skrall to overwhelm the villages, and would nearly have done so if not for the Great Spirit’s intervention. In other words, they were Spherus Magna’s ready-made army of Dark Hunters.
Ever the pragmatist, Fero was one of the first Bone Hunters to sign up under my banner. I was hesitant to grant an organic creature training, as I was not yet sure of their ability, and tested him rigorously. Some of the biomechs jeered him for his curious physiology, until Fero made clear his disapproval of such prejudices by sending one coworker to the infirmary and sorely wounding two others. He would have slain all three if Sentrakh had not intervened. Naturally, I immediately accepted him into the organization. Other Bone Hunters followed, but none could really compare to Fero.
It is now whispered among the other Dark Hunters that even the blazing desert couldn’t warm Fero’s cold heart, and I believe it to be true. His only emotional weakness is his reptilian steed, Skirmix. Their partnership has lasted dozens of millennia, and Fero has developed something of a soft spot for the great beast.
POWERS: None. Fero makes up for his mortal nature with over 100,000 years’ experience in tracking, hunting, and swordsmanship. Additionally, his technological implants afford him resistance against the ravages of age, and enhanced vision even in the searing light of the desert sun. Skirmix stands over three bio tall, can bite through most biomechs’ armor, and wields a venomous spine on its tail. While it is not built for speed, Skirmix has great endurance, and can run impossibly long distances without even food or water. Fero and Skirmix have a close partnership, and it has been said that they can nearly read the other’s mind.
STATUS: Active. Fero has quickly shown himself to be one of the wisest and most practically-minded operatives I have ever employed. His extensive knowledge of Bara Magna and the surrounding area has proved invaluable, and it was with his help that I selected the location of our new headquarters. I may soon send him, along with several other Bone Hunters, to lead raids on the outlying Agori/Matoran villages. They will think the raids were planned by Bone Hunters alone, and will remain ignorant of the true mastermind until it is far, far too late.
Jurassic Magna?

I made this mix exclusively for Skirmish Blog, they have supported my music for years and so I wanted to make something 'a bit special'. When I started compiling tracks I found loads more than I expected to find: Nearly 200 in Traktor at the last count! It has turned out to be a 'retrospective' in some ways (although I hate using that word) it kinda starts off that way anyway - though I can guarantee there's loads of stuff you definitely haven't heard before, whoever you are. So please, do not sit back, do not relax and prepare yourself.. I packed as much as I could into 2 hours, turns out that's quite a bit!
