I never posted about meeting the Slovakian Prime Minister. It was an interesting experience, but a bit concerning... put aside the fact she was extremely right wing, there was a really dodgy moment when someone asked a question about Roma in Slovakia.
She proceeded to talk really negatively about them for about five minutes, telling everyone how there was no hope for them and they were the cause of Slovakia's problems. Nearly everyone there was either Czech or Slovakian, and at one point someone shouted out a derogatory term (the equivalent of negro) and everyone was just laughing. I found that really uncomfortable that the Prime Minister and a bunch of about 100 people could just sit there and talk about an ethnic group in such a way. When I got back home I googled Roma in Slovakia and there was even an Amnesty International Page on them.
I'm not a big campaigner or anything but from the way the room reacted, I got an understand of why ethnic persecution can take place.
