The Reavers are still trying to provoke the Hellfire club and I can’t remember why. Oh well. Hey, you know what? Maybe it’s because this comic book was written 30 years ago, but 7 figures, 8 if we’re lucky, doesn’t seem like very much money for this sort of facility. I mean, what kind of crappy experiments can you do for 9-12 million dollars? Like, you could probably do a few behavioral studies on college students or something. Maybe test some makeup products on goats. But you aren’t going to be having any kind of significant scientific breakthroughs for that amount of money. They aren’t going to be running a hadron collider in that place, that’s for sure. Heck they aren’t even going to be researching MRNA vaccines or anything useful. No wonder the Hellfire club lost their influence over society! (Uncanny X-Men #262 – Jun 1990)
