Post Homestuck Update

So many who originated in the Homestuck fandom branched off and did their own thing and fans of theirs followed them. I, however, really haven’t launched anything my own since the notifier. There was Skullgoal and the experimental Mac and Linux versions, sure, but project of my own.... until recently.... and let’s just say, this one will be open source.

SkullGoal - Update

I never expected IGG to go down and have some sort of valid, hosted error page. This is causing the SkullGoal app to crash.

I can fix this, but with 12 hours left, if the site goes down...

Skullgoal v1.4

Minor changes, but  necessary ones in my opinion.

Changes from 1.3 to 1.4:

Fixed typos: "Z0NE" is now changed BACK to "ZONE", "Reademe.txt" changed to "Readme.txt", and "Strech Goal" to "Stretch Goal" (Yay late night programming!

Optimized

Fixed bug where if a donator changed their name and were still the latest donor checked, the notifier would report it as a "new" donation and a changed total of $0.

Alright folks, here it is. My SkullGoal application. I've spent a few days cleaning up code, testing, and thinking of and implementing new features, and I think it's time to share it with a wider audience.

1.5 IS THE LAST VERSION, AND USES LESS BANDWIDTH, A CRITICAL UPDATE!

IGG IS STUPID AND THEIR WIDGETS DON'T UPDATE! NEW 1.6 HOT OFF THE COMPILER!

What is it?

This program is a small tool to keep you up to date on the current funding for Skullgirls!

How does it work?

After launching the EXE, it appears as a small Skullgirls icon in your notification tray (near your clock!). Correction: Apparently this does work with Mono and Wine according to one person! So Mac and Linux users SHOULD be able to use it!

Alright, what now?

You can hover your cursor over the Skullgirls icon to see the current amount Skullgirls has raised!

Is that all?

Well, no. If the program sees that someone new has donated, it will inform you and let you know who donated and what the new amount funded for Skullgirls is. It will also let you know if there is a new announcement on the updates page.

Does this dumb thing do anything else?

Harsh, but not really. There's a context menu if you right click the Skullgirls icon.

And what does that do?

About Button: It's like the credits... but it's just me who made this with lots of shoutouts...

Check Every: You can change how often the program looks for a new donation. The default is every 5 min.

Check Now: Check to see if a new donation has been received. If you have notifications still enabled, it will pop up with a notification telling you if a new donation has occurred since it last checked. This also resets the timer.

Exit: Exits the application.

And in the options menu:

Display Difference: With each update notification, it will tell you exactly how much the drive has made has gained since the last checked update.

Use Referral URL: Wanna help me out? With this option checked, each time a new funding total is grabbed, it counts towards my referrals! It is disabled by default.

Disable Notifications: You will no longer see Notification Bubbles, but the program will still check to see if new donations have been received. Just use the tooltip to see the current amount. NOTE: You will still get a pop-up box at every Stretch Goal reached.

Why on God's green earth would anyone use this?

If you wanted to know the current Indiegogo Skullgirls drive amount without actually navigating to the page. Basically you can be doing anything on your computer and easily check and be informed of how much Skullgirls has raised
