PIXIES: Havalina

I only know because I looked it up, but did you know Havalina is a kind of fuzz pedal? And a javalina is also known as a skunk pig that looks like this. I'd guess Frank Black's take, though, focused more on a passing Mexican beauty in some dusty saloon. One he never would or could gather the gall to attempt establishing eye contact.

Or IDK. Maybe it's the skunk pig thing. Kinda hard to look at those.

The Peccary

The Peccary, also called Javelina or Skunk Pig, is a medium sized animal in the Tayassuidae. They are found throughout Central and South America and the Southwest of North America. They're often confused with domestic pigs brought by Europeans that have escaped and now run wild as 'razorback' hogs in many parts of the US.

Like a pig it has a snout ending in a cartilaginous disc and eyes small relative to its head, but unlike a pig its stomach is non-ruminating, although it has three chambers and is more complex than a pig. Peccaries are omnivores and will eat small animals, though it prefers roots, grass, seeds, fruit, and cacti. Their dental formula is 2.1.3.3/3.1.3.3, which means that there are two incisors, one canine, three molar and three pre molars on one side of the top jaw, and three incisors one canine, three molar and three pre-molars on one side of the bottom jaw.

Adding this up you get a full set of teeth, 38.

Peccaries are social animals and often form herds. Over 100 individuals have been recorded in a single herd. There are four species of living Peccary:

-The Chacoan Peccary

-The Giant Peccary
