Summary: You play with Sky’s hair while he naps

Sky’s head rested on your chest as he napped. His arm slung across your hips as the rest of him is laid either on you or pressed against you.

To be fair, he needed it. After all the training he was being put through. And the extra training he was putting himself through. You were happy your boyfriend was finally catching up on some much-needed sleep.

In one hand, you held a book. And the other gently ran through Sky’s hair. Massaging his scalp as you went.

Removing your hand from Sky’s head, you move to turn to the next page in your book.

But the moment your fingertips left Sky’s scalp, he let out a disgruntled sound. Grumbling in his sleep as he pushed his head further into you.

Lightly chuckling, you flipped the page before returning your fingers to Sky’s head. Causing him to let out a happy sigh as he relaxed again. Content that your hand was back on his head.

Smiling at your adorable boyfriend, you made a mental note to bring it up to him when he woke up.

Grumbling Sky’s eyes fluttered open.

Grinning sleepily up at you, Sky moved to sit up. Shuffling around until his head was resting on your shoulder as he looked at what you were reading.

“You are adorable, you know that don’t you?” you questioned Sky. Putting the bookmaker in your book, placing it on the bedside table next to you.

“Why?” Sky questions, wary of where this was going.

“You wouldn’t let me take my hand off your head.” You told Sky, Smiling down at him. “Whenever I would take my hand off your head, you would whine and nuzzled your head into me until I put it back. It was so sweet.”

At your words, Sky’s cheeks dusted a light red and a smile spread across his face.

Leaning down, you placed a light kiss on his nose. “It was adorable.” You assure him. “After all you have been through. And are putting yourself through you need some TLC.”

“As long as you are the person giving the the TLC.” Sky grinned admiring you.

“Always.” You assure him. Placing a kiss on his head. Because you most certainly weren’t planning on going anywhere.

A/N The first request mentioned Riven too but I decided to just have Sky because at this point, Riven has already been brainwashed so it wouldn't make sense that he's helping and it fit my idea way better.

This is not happening. The scene unfolding in front of your very eyes is simply not happening because if it's happening, then that means you're seeing your mentor being put in handcuffs by Solarian soldiers who'll take him to a prison where you know he'll be fighting for his life because he put half of the people in there in the first place. And if that's true, then you're going to lose it.

"Y/N, calm down." He says it quietly meant only for your ears, but you feel your heart burst anyway. Saul Silva is being put in handcuffs, and you can do absolutely nothing to stop it.

"Please," he adds, intertwining his fingers with yours, but it's too late. You can't seem to catch your breath. It's like you've been sprinting a marathon.

"Let him go!" you yell about to walk right over there and melt away the handcuffs yourself. They don't even bother to look at you - Andreas, Luna, Rosalind. None of them care about your outburst, but Sky does. He grabs you around your waist to keep you from starting a fight right then and there.

"Sky, I swear—"

"Not right now," he mumbles trying to hold onto you despite the heat you're emanating. You have to stop this before Silva gets taken away, but Sky refuses to let go of you, and panic is setting in. You don't even realize that you're crying until the tears blind you.

"Please stop," you plead, feeling your entire body shake from pure panic. How is this happening? A month ago you were getting ready for exams. Sky manages to drag you away from the scene but not before you see Silva get pushed into the back of a black SUV. It's the last drop before you completely lose it.

You're kicking and fighting, screaming for Sky to let you go. You only have one thing on your mind, and that is to burn them all alive for what they've done. What if you never see him again? He's the only one you've ever looked up to. After your parents left, you'd created your own family here at Alfea, and now it was being ripped apart.

"I know, I know, I know." Sky keeps mumbling it over and over again. He's losing Silva the same way you are, and it hurts like hell.

"We have to save him," you plead turning to Sky. His eyes are shining with tears, and you instantly feel horrible when you notice the burns on his hands.

"I did that?" you question, gently turning his hands around, so the palms are facing up.

"I'm so sorry," you whisper feeling another panic attack coming. You hurt Sky. The one person that you know has your back.

"It's fine. I'll heal, okay?" He shushes you as he pulls you in for a hug. Dawn is nearing with every minute, and you'll have to figure out what to do about the new headmistress and her posy. You're not even going to go into the fact that Sky's father is back after you all thought he was dead or the fact that Riven seems to have joined the dark side.

"What are we going to do?"

"Right now, we're going to sit down and watch the sun come up. We're going to enjoy this beautiful thing, and then we're going to figure out how we're going to fix things." You both sit down on the tiny hill looking over Alfea. You know they're going to come for you and Sky. You saw the way Andreas looked at Sky. But right now, you're just two teenagers sitting there watching the sun come up.

"Thank you for being here," you mumble leaning your head on his shoulder.

"I'm always going to be right here. It's you and me."

Under The Light Of A Thousand Stars

You pull the curtain to the side just enough to allow you to spy on the crowd that's slowly growing. It's almost dark outside but there are a million lanterns lighting up the castle. You take a deep breath in the hopes that it'll help calm you down but it does nothing to soothe you. Today is a day of mourning for you, but you have to stand in front of the entire realm and proclaim your undying fidelity to the people in an hour.

"They're all waiting to see me break," you say looking back at Sky. He's the only person who's allowed you time to feel upset about the loss of your parents. The second they died, you were in the fitting room to prepare the clothes for your coronation.

"They want to celebrate you. Everyone loves you," Sky counters and you know he's right but everything feels wrong. You don't want to be here, you were supposed to have so much more time with your parents.

"They loved my parents too and somehow, they've already been forgotten." You sneak another peek at the crowd before letting go of the curtain to conceal you once more.

"They're not forgotten. They live on in the hearts of each and every one of them. The same way they live on in your heart," Sky smiles walking over to hug you. His calmness somehow calms you down and you're infinitely grateful that he's been by your side through all of this craziness.

"You always know the right thing to say," you marvel leaning up to kiss him on the cheek. He's your harbor when the water threatens to swallow you whole.

"I just want you to feel comfortable. I know this came from a horrible event but you becoming the new ruler is a good thing. Think of the changes you'll be able to make, how many people you'll be able to help now." You close your eyes, for once, thinking of the future rather than the past. You want so many things including continuing the good work your parents had already started. So much to do and so little time.

"I feel comfortable when you're next to me." Even now - even after four years together - you still blush whenever you admit these things. It's so uncommon for you to show affection so openly after having been raised to always be poised and in control of everything but being with Sky has shown you that being open isn't the same as showing weakness.

"I... I think you're freaking out and pretending you're not. And I get it, but unless you're ready to elope, the only other option is to get out there and accept the fact that the people will heal with you. And the first step is you wearing that crown." He's right. You've been trying to hide it but of course, he sees right through you.

"I love you, you know that, right?" He nods closing the gap between the two of you. The kiss is gentle and over way sooner than you'd have liked but you don't have time for another before your maid enters.

"It's time, your majesty."

A/N I changed Sky’s personality slightly to fit the request. I don’t really see him having this reaction but I liked it for the story. 

“Hey boyfriend,” you smile walking straight into his open arms. He hugs you tightly taking everything in. God, you’ve missed him. Your parents insisted that you spent the summer with them meaning you and Sky had only seen each other on facetime for the past two months.

“How was your summer?” he asks refusing to let go of you just yet. 

“It would’ve been better if it had included you,” you admit knowing he’s thinking the exact same thing. He’s spent the summer with Riven at Alfea and Silva putting them through a brutal training program so they would be ready for this term. 

“I bet Silva really enjoyed having you this summer though,” you reckon as you walk towards the gate to the school. 

“If he enjoyed putting us through that then the man is a sadist.” 

“You know what I mean,” you laugh knowing just how important these moments are for both Sky and Silva. You know Sky has always considered Silva his real father which also meant that he always worried about Silva. Being the head of the army wasn’t exactly a job that came with a lot of security so Sky never knew if he were saying goodbye for the last time. You’d spent a lot of nights staying up and waiting for Silva to return. Something you were happy to do if it helped Sky. 

“I know, I know,” Sky replies. When you enter school grounds you see the first couple of students start to whisper and point. It’s no secret that you and Sky are considered somewhat of a power couple around here despite your many attempts to stay under the radar. You’ve proven to be quite the powerful fairy drawing a lot of attention in itself but when you and Sky started dating, everyone wanted to know more. 

“I don’t think I’ll ever get used to this part,” you admit quietly not wanting anyone but Sky to hear you. Sky wants to be a normal couple as much as you do, but he’s accepted that that’s not a possibility with him practically being Silva’s son and you being one of the most powerful fairies this school has ever seen. He likes the attention from the girls a bit more than you’d prefer but you trust him wholeheartedly. 

“Just give ‘em a smile and keep walking,” he whispers practicing that tactic himself. You breathe out once you get inside not even realising that you’d been holding your breath. You know it comes with the territory but that doesn’t mean you have to love it. 

“Just imagine when we graduate and get to leave this place. We can go somewhere no one knows us.” It’s an alluring thought that helps keep you sane even if it’s only a comforting lie. Someone with your powers will never be able to be completely free from war and politics. Farah has already started giving you private lessons in diplomacy and the history of politics in the Otherworld. With power comes certain expectations. 

“I will hold onto that thought until you come find me for lunch,” you smile giving him a quick peck before heading to class. Except he doesn’t come find you for lunch and keeping your temper under control becomes quite a challenge when you discover why. 

“Who’s this?” you ask positioning yourself between Sky and the new girl. She has gorgeous red hair and a face that screams pretty but you refuse to be intimidated by her. 

“This is Bloom,” Sky informs you. It’s a conscious effort not to make a face when you hear her name. Maybe you feel slightly intimidated by her. 

“You forgot our lunch date,” you state and while everyone else who hears your voice won’t think anything of it, Sky knows you’re upset. 

“I’m sorry. I’m the one that kept him. I was just having trouble finding my way and he definitely didn’t offer any help.” Apparently, it’s an inside joke because they both laugh bringing your anger to a boiling point. You haven’t seen him all summer and on the first day back together he goes and flirt with the first years. He knows he’s in trouble as you walk away from Bloom. 

“Before you say anything, I was just being nice.” 

“Then why don’t you join her for lunch?” you say your voice dripping with sarcasm. He’s about to say something when you spot your chance for being completely immature and petty. 

“Alex, hey! Wait up. You want to go get some lunch?” He’s a specialist you started talking to last year and while he’s nothing but a friend you know it’ll annoy Sky. You both have a tendency to be jealous of each other making fights between the two of you downright horrible. 

“Sure,” he says not realising that he just became part of the argument. You feel bad for involving him but then you remember standing in the cafeteria waiting patiently for Sky while he was out flirting with a first year and every bit of guilt goes down the drain. 

“Alex, I mean this in the nicest way but get fucking lost.” He grabs your arm holding you in place and Alex immediately scatters. No specialist will go against Sky especially not when he’s looking like he just might punch a wall - or them. 

“Maybe you should get lost?” you say out of spite more than anything. You hate that you’re arguing on the first day back but it was humiliating to stand there waiting having everyone watch you. 

“I’m sorry I missed lunch, okay? It won’t happen again.” His eyes are begging for forgiveness and you want to end this fight so badly but something’s keeping you from doing so. 

“I was thinking about you all day. I was quite literally counting the seconds until lunch because I missed you. And all you could think about was some first year. That hurts, Sky.”

“I know. But it wasn’t like that. I spent my summer going crazy without you here.” He tentatively takes your hands hoping you won’t push him away. 

“It would’ve been nice to know that,” you mumble feeling your anger subside. 

“Look, I’m sorry. I take full responsibility for today. It won’t happen again,” he says bringing you in for a hug. It’s futile to fight him at this point, you’re not even angry anymore. 

“I wasn’t much better. I’m sorry about Alex,” you mumble face pressed against his chest. You feel him chuckle and you can’t help but laugh too by the absurdity of it all. 

“I probably scared that kid half to death.” You’re pretty sure Alex will never have the guts to speak to you again. The poor boy had no clue what he was getting into when he agreed to lunch. You promise yourself this is the first and last time someone else gets dragged into you and Sky’s argument. 

“Kiss me and then take me to lunch,” you say. He leans down kissing you with those plumb lips of his and you feel your knees go weak. Even though you drive each other crazy, he is the one for you. He’s the love of your life and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

Searching For Calm

Pairing: Sky x Stella. Sky x reader. 

Request: Maybe you could write a Sky one where reader is always there for him and he just sees Stella. So the reader (mind fairy) shuts herself out and it takes some time for him to notice. Anonymous

A/N Ignore the text on the gif. I couldn’t find one I liked for this fic. 

“Are we still on for tonight?” you ask knowing what’s coming but hoping you’re wrong. Sky doesn’t notice your face fall when he shakes his head.

“Sorry, I promised Stella she could come over. She had a rough day.” You want to scream at him that every day is hard for you. Every day you wake up and feel every emotion that runs through Alfea. Happy, sad, lonely, scared. Some days you can’t even figure out which feelings are your own. You want to confess how the only calm you ever feel is when you’re with Sky, but it doesn’t matter. He only has eyes for Stella. 

“Yeah, no problem. Talk tomorrow then?” He never has the chance to answer. Stella sits down on his lap stealing away the short time you and Sky had alone. You literally feel her dislike as she turns slightly your way. 

“Oh, I didn’t see you there.”

“Yeah. There’s a lot of things you didn’t notice,” you mumble hinting at the five empty chairs around the table but they’re already to consumed by each other to pay any more attention to you. 

“Bye, Sky.” There’s no reply, but you didn’t expect one. It’s been 2 months like this ever since Stella decided that Sky was good enough for her despite her dumping him over the summer to spend time with other boys. A fact they’ve both decided to ignore. You put on headphones hoping it might help you drown out everyone’s emotions. You know Farah told you to focus on shutting other people’s emotions out, to only feel them when you want to. But lately, you haven’t been able to focus and you have a suspicion it might be related to the way Sky’s been treating you. 

“They’re locking tongues again. It’s getting disgusting.” Riven appears next to you with a sour look on his face. The one person who just might hate the relationship more than you. 

“I know. He cancelled on me again.” 

“He’s treating you like trash.” You sense his anger more than you see it. You’ve been a trio since you were young and Stella has gone ahead and ruined that. She dislikes you and Riven and for some reason Sky always chooses her. You guess love really does blind people. 

“He treats you like trash too,” you counter not ready to face the truth yet. 

“Yeah, but most of the time I deserve it. You, however, doesn’t ever deserve it.” He’s radiating affection as he looks at you. He’s well aware of your crush on Sky and he’s made his feelings clear on more than several occasions that you deserve someone who actually cares. He’s like your big brother, always looking out for you. 

“I was thinking I might just take some time to myself. See if he misses me.” It’s a very cruel game that you’ll be playing with yourself because you know he won’t notice. Not as long as he’s dating Stella. Riven puts his arm around you as you walk down the hallway. 

“I think that’s the smartest thing you’ve said in months.” You nudge him lightly but regrettably have to agree with him. In the next couple of weeks, you stay away from Sky. And even though you already knew his reaction, it still feels like someone is pulling at your heartstrings when you see him being just fine. It’s like he doesn’t even realise that you’re not around. Riven tries his hardest to cheer you up, but now that you’re without any comfort from your powers, you feel the toll much more than before. You start sleeping in Riven’s bed whenever Sky stays over at Stella’s. There’s nothing more than friendly comfort in it. Slowly, Riven becomes your escape from everyone else and it feels so good. You know you shouldn’t depend on others to help you cope with your feelings but it’s all you can do right now. Tonight is one of those nights where Riven has the room to himself. Or at least that’s what he’s been told by Sky but for some reason he stumbles through the door in the middle of the night. 

“Y/N?” He sees you first. There’s no missing the feeling of betrayal going through him. You know exactly what he’s thinking. Riven? Really? It’s all over his face and you hate it. You hate that he gets to judge you when he hasn’t talked to you in weeks. 

“I thought you were going to be with Stella tonight?” Riven starts to stir next to you.

“We got into a fight. What are you doing here?” 

“I’m sleeping.” You know you should tell him that there’s nothing between you and Riven but there’s a small, petty part of you that really likes how he feels right now. 

“Yeah, but with Riven? Are you dating or something?” He’s trying to act unbothered but you’re both painfully aware of your ability to feel everything he feels. 

“That’s none of your business, man.” Cue Riven who’s ready to provoke Sky. He’s been upset with him for a while and with the way Sky is acting right now, Riven can’t help himself. This is going to end in a fight if you don’t get it under control. 

“I can’t sleep alone, okay? I haven’t been able to for a while. Riven calms me.” You thought you were defusing the situation but somehow your comment just makes everything much worse.  

“He calms you? So I’m not good enough anymore?” His voice almost breaks and in turn something breaks inside of you. He doesn’t get to be the one with the broken heart. He let you go and forgot you even existed. He spent the last four weeks in Stella-land and now that they’ve had a fight, suddenly you’re good enough. You’re about to tell him off but Riven beats you to it. 

“You haven’t been here! She’s been going through shit and you’ve been so caught up with yourself that you didn’t even notice that you guys haven’t talked for weeks. If anything you should be thankful, I’ve been here!” The situation is escalating much faster than you thought possible. They both radiate feelings overwhelming you. It’s difficult to keep track of which feelings belong to who. 

“He’s right, Sky. Ever since you and Stella got back together, all you’ve seen is her. You cancelled all of our plans and completely cut me out.” You want to cry or hit Sky right in the face and you’re not sure which feeling is your own right now. Instead of doing either of those you get up and run away from the situation entirely. They both call after you but you just need to find a quiet place away from people’s feelings. You run outside and down the field. There’s a tree at the very back that you’ve crawled up more times than you remember. It’s always been your safe spot whenever you needed to get away. You’re hoping that Sky doesn’t remember it and after an hour alone you start to feel safe. But then you feel it - or more precisely him. There’s no doubt in your mind that he’s coming right at you.

“Y/N, I’m coming up.” You want to scream at him to go away but suddenly you’ve gone mute. 

“I’m so sorry. I’ve been a dick.” You don’t argue with that statement. He really has been a dick.

“Riven really set me straight after you left. And when he started pointing it out, I realised that I haven’t been myself. I’ve been distant and cold, I’ve taken you for granted,” he says and you feel his regret just as much as you see it on his face. 

“I never meant to do that. I got so caught up in Stella’s web and because of that I hurt the person who means the most to me.” 

“You took away my calm,” you mumble blinded by tears. It sounds so childish saying out loud but he was the one person who could make you feel normal. His energy cancelled out everyone else’s. You look over at him blinking several times before being able to focus on his face. 

“I’m really sorry.” He takes your hands in his and you let him. It’s that heart of yours that’s betraying you. It always beats a little faster when he looks at you. 

“I can’t do this again. I can’t keep losing you over and over again,” you admit dangerously close to just owning up to your feelings. How he takes your breath away just walking towards you, how he makes you smile even at your worst moments, how he makes your palms sweat whenever he’s near. You want to admit it all because you’re so tired of having to hide your own feelings when everyone else can have their feelings heard. 

“You won’t have to. I ended things with Stella before I came out here. When I saw you with Riven,” he pauses to take a deep breath, ”I felt my heart crack. I hated the idea of seeing you with anyone else.” You stop breathing. For once, you use your powers to reach out and feel his fully. You feel like screaming when you notice the very feeling you’ve been consumed by yourself. 

“Did you just-”

“No!” You say it too quickly. He knows what you did but he doesn’t seem to mind it. He smiles as he takes your hand. 

“I know this is really poor timing and I hate how much it took for me to realise that what I feel for you is way beyond how I should feel for a friend. But if there’s even a small part of you that cares for me like that, I’d really like a second chance.” You’re pretty sure you’re dreaming because there’s no way you went from being ignored by him to have him confess his feelings for you. It doesn’t change how fast your heart is beating in your chest or the blush creeping onto your cheeks. 

“You just got out of a relationship, Sky.” Even though your heart is all for jumping into his arms and riding off into the sunset, the logical part of your brain can’t help but recall how he was in a relationship up until an hour ago. 

“I’m too late, aren’t I?” 

“I really like you, but I also feel like I don’t know you anymore. I look at you and see the face of my best friend, but I also see a stranger.” You don’t know how to explain it properly but somehow Sky gets it. 

“How about we start out easy? Get to know each other again.” He cups your cheek as he looks into your eyes. He opens his mind to let you know that he truly means everything he’s said. You can feel his feelings yelling to be heard. 

“I’d like that.”

Mornings Spent With You Are My Favourite Mornings

"How much do you love me?" you ask balancing a tray with way too much food for two people as you push open the door using your shoulder. Sky is still in bed pretending to be asleep but it's almost 9am and you're starving.

"Babe, I know you're awake. And I brought pancakes." He keeps his eyes closed but even he can't ignore the delicious smell of pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon.

"Don't tell Riven but you're my favourite," he mumbles sitting up with his back against the wall in an attempt to make room for you on the tiny single bed that Alfea apparently is very fond of.

"I thought we agreed on staying in bed for as long as possible," Sky teases munching away on the food you brought back from the dining hall. Lazy mornings always drive you crazy because there's so much to do. Why not be productive? But as you're looking over at the boy sitting next to you on the bed, you know why lazy mornings can be good.

"Have I got something on my face?" he asks and you laugh watching him devour pancake after pancake.

"You're just pretty cute right about now," you admit with blushing cheeks. These kinds of mornings are rare - normally Riven is here too and he does not care for your lovey-dovey attitude. Most mornings he makes an effort to be as loud and obnoxious as possible just to make sure nothing romantic could ever take place. But this morning he's out somewhere with Beatrix and you have the room to yourself.

"I'm always cute. It's the only reason I got you to talk to me," he teases lying right back down once you're finished with breakfast. You feel much more inclined to cuddle up next to him and stay in bed now that you've at least gotten some food.

"I could get used to mornings like this one," he says kissing your temple. Your legs are tangled up and you feel like you're burning up from your combined body heats but my God, if you don't love the feeling of skin against skin.

"Imagine when we get our own place. We can do this every morning," you say softly daydreaming about the future. You know every teenager say that their high school sweetheart is the one but with Sky it's different. He isn't just a high school sweetheart, he's the air in your lungs. He's the beat of your heart, he's everything between heaven and Earth and so much more. You couldn't imagine life without him.

"I'll make you breakfast in bed," he whispers voice full of affection. and while the thought fills your heart with joy, you can't help but laugh.

"You'd burn the place down before you had a chance to bring me breakfast in bed."

"That's probably true," he laughs along well knowing he has no skills in a kitchen, "but it's the thought that counts." You don't say anything else enjoying the quiet morning. You rest your head on his chest listening to his heartbeat. The steady pace almost lulls you back to sleep again.

"Are you sleeping?" You keep your eyes closed but smile.

"If you're not, I'd just really like to say that I love you." You intertwine your fingers with his and kisses his chest.

"I love you too."

Could you write where sky is with a princess of solaria (Stellas sister) and they attempt to keep it secret from Stella and set before the summer of the events on the fate the winx saga is set.

A/N I paired these request because they were so similar and would have the exact same plot line. Will be doing this to a couple of the requests since they’re so similar. 

“Free at last!” you exclaim as you walk out the doors of Alfea with Sky in tow. You’ve finally finished your last exam and now it’s time to just enjoy the summer. 

“So, what’s your plans then?” Sky asks propping his arm around your shoulders. There’s nothing new in this but you still get butterflies. At this point, it’s just a given whenever he touches you. 

“Oh, you know. Travelling through the realms, visiting all my rich friends. I may even buy a yacht just to pass the time.” It’s a bit of an inside joke between you and Sky. He knows you’ll have to return to Solaria and face the dragon. 

“What about you? Will you be alright?” You’re a little worried about leaving him here. Stella had decided to dump him just days before the exams once again proving that the girl had no regard for other people. Needless to say, you weren’t the biggest fan of your sister. She always tried to live up to your mother’s expectations and acted more than royally around school whereas you had decided that the disappointed frown your mother wore every time you saw her actually suited her face. 

“Yeah,” he says shoving his hands into the pockets of his jeans, “I’ll be fine. I have Silva.” It’s right then and there you decide that there’s a greater need for you here than hiding away back in Solaria. 

“You know, my mother is already profoundly disappointed in me. I don’t think it would make much of a difference if I were to stay.” Sky’s smile is brighter than the sun when he realises you’ll be staying right here with him. 

“Thank you,” he says hugging you tightly. He’s never been one to share him emotions easily but over the years you’ve learned to decipher his many facial expressions and there was just no way you would leave him right now. Your mother is as delighted as you expected when you tell her of your plans for the summer but you figure she’ll forgive you at some point. The way you see it, there’s a throne waiting for you back at Solaria and you want to enjoy freedom as long as you possibly can. Sometimes, you catch yourself wishing that Stella was the older sister. She’d be much more suited for the royal life but there’s a strict code of conduct when it comes to heirs and you’re the first born so the crown will eventually be placed on your head.  

“You won’t be returning with me?” Stella asks as she’s packing up her suitcase. Her tone in stern already setting you off. 

“I’ll be spending enough time there once I graduate.”

“Oh yes. The ever-repeating speech on how this is your moment of freedom and you won’t give it up for anything,” Stella mocks clearly upset to be facing mother alone. You feel a pang of guilt knowing what you’re sending Stella back to but the two of you have never been able to see eye to eye especially when it came to mother’s expectations of her daughters. 

“You’re welcome to stay here at Alfea if you’d like.” It’s an offer made to be polite because you know she’ll never accept it. 

“Please. Someone has to be responsible and return home. Our people look to the royal family for support. We can’t all pretend to be someone else.” 

“I’m not pretending, Stella. If I could give you the crown, I gladly would. If I had my way, I’d be just another fairy attending Alfea.” It’s a discussion you’ve had more than once and it’s always the same outcome. You don’t want the crown and Stella does but your mother would never allow the two of you to switch. Stella doesn’t say goodbye when she leaves and you’re okay with that. Instead you head out to find Sky. 

“Ready for the summer of your life?” you ask him and he smiles. It passes by too fast. The picnics out on the field, Silva training with you, walks in the forest at night. It’s nothing grand but it becomes the perfect summer on the final day when Sky pulls you aside as all the students start to arrive. 

“I have to tell you something. I’ve been wanting to all summer but I was scared I might ruin it.” Your heart skips a beat but you tell yourself that it’s probably not what you think it is. Rather than making assumptions, you stay quiet waiting for him to speak. 

“When this summer started, I thought I’d spend it alone and heartbroken over Stella but then you stayed. And I know it seems insane since you’re Stella’s sister, but I just can’t help but feel the way I do around you,” he smiles. It’s too good to be true. There has to be some kind of catch or problem in your way but right now everything feels perfect. You carefully take his hand and intertwine your fingers with his and Sky’s cheeks turn red. He’s always so gentle and kind so you know you’ll have to make the first move. As you stare into his eyes, you notice little specks of green mixed with the blue. You finally close your eyes, lean in and kiss him. Something you’ve wanted to do since you laid eyes on him the first time. You pull away with a huge smile plastered on your face thinking this moment is perfect and then you spot her. 

“Stella.” Thankfully, she hasn’t seen you but it’s only a matter of time before she’ll spot the two of you. Hand in his, you drag him with you behind a tree keeping you out of sight. 

“Of all the things I imagined you’d say after our first kiss, Stella wasn’t one of them.” He’s teasing you but you feel horrible. Despite your many differences, you do care about Stella and it would kill her to know that you’re dating her ex-boyfriend. You’re not even sure if she’s properly done with him or not and just thinking about her finding out about the two of you is enough to make your skin crawl. 

“She can’t know,” you plead looking into his eyes. He has to understand the importance of it. She’s not strong enough mentally to handle this. 

“Hey, relax,” he says cupping your cheeks, “how about we keep it to ourselves until we know what this is?” You know you don’t want to give him up but you don’t want to hurt Stella. His offer gives you him and keeps Stella blissfully unaware of the relationship which is good enough for you. 

“Okay. Just you and me, no one else can know.” 

“Please just kiss me,” he whispers leaning in and you don’t know how you could ever refuse him. Over the next few weeks, you and Sky have stolen moments between classes and nights spent wrapped in each other’s arms. You know you shouldn’t but you love him. One night you whisper it when you think he’s sleeping and he almost gives you a heart attack when he whispers it back. 

“I thought you were sleeping,” you whisper-yell trying to hide your face in his chest. 

“You’ve been turning around every two seconds. It’s impossible to fall asleep,” he chuckles wrapping his arms tightly around you. 

“I’m sorry, I have a lot on my mind,” you sigh. 

“Do you want to talk about it?” he asks turning on the lamp by his bedside table. It showers Sky in a golden light making him look more angelic than human. It’s not fair how some people look so beautiful without even trying. 

“Yes. No. Maybe. I don’t know where to start,” you reply sitting up and leaning your back against the wall. You want to tell Stella so you can be done with sneaking around. As much fun as it’s been, you’re getting tired of watching Stella try to flirt with him because she decided he was good enough after all. Of course, he’s been turning her down but it just doesn’t seem to click with her. But you also know it’s a risk telling her since she’s not likely to congratulate you. 

“I guess I’m just tired of sneaking around,” you finally say. He signals for you to lay down with him again and you have no reservation as you crawl into his arms. 

“I’m ready for it when you are. Frankly, I just want to tell everyone you’re mine so the boys leave you alone.” 

“Please, you literally have a whole fan club waiting for you at every corner giggling and blushing if you even look in their direction.” Sky has become very popular now that he appears single and you can’t blame them. He is ridiculously handsome and more importantly, he’s kind and patient and warm. Right about now, he’s your favourite person in the whole world. 

“I do not,” he protests but even he knows it is the truth. His face is serious when he says: “Maybe we should tell her. I know you wanted to protect her but we can’t hide it forever. You’re expected to marry at some point and so am I.” 

“I know. I know. I just feel like a horrible sister.” This feeling of guilt comes as a surprise. You’ve never been that close but you don’t want to be the reason she’s hurting. 

“You’re not a horrible sister. Everything you’ve done these past few weeks has been to make sure she didn’t get hurt. It’s not selfish to want to be happy, Y/N.” But that’s just it. You’re already far too aware of your own happiness. It’s the reason you always stay away from Solaria and the expectations of the crown. It’s why you’re lying in bed with Sky right now. You've always put your own happiness first and you’ve never had a problem with it until now. 

“I’ll talk to her first thing in the morning then.” He kisses you one last time before you both fall asleep. You wake up to a note from him informing you that Silva had added a morning practice which meant you had no reason not to march into Stella’s room right now and tell her about you and Sky. 

“Can I talk to you?” you ask entering Stella’s bedroom. 

“If you must,” she replies not even bothering to look at you. 

“I don’t know how to say this so I’m just going to say it. I’m dating Sky,” you force yourself to keep going even as she goes completely rigid, “and I have been for a while now. I’ve kept it a secret because I never meant for this to happen and I didn’t want to hurt you. But it’s getting serious now and I needed you to know. I promise I’d never ever go for him if I didn’t have feelings for him.” She’s quiet for so long you’re worried she might just never speak to you again. 

“I’m not happy you kept it from me but I suppose if he has to date someone else, it wouldn’t be horrible if it was you.” Relief floods your body as you realise that she’s not breaking and she doesn’t hate you. 

“Thank you.” This is about as heartfelt as it’ll ever be between you and Stella. You share a moment locking eyes with each other before she turns her back to you. 

“I’m going to go then,” you say slowly backing towards the door. Stella doesn’t say anymore but the fact that you’re still breathing is a much better reaction than you’d dared hope for. Immediately after you head to the training grounds to find Sky. Once you spot him, you run right into his arms and he lifts you from the ground. 

“I love you,” you say kissing him in front of everyone. It’s so freeing to know that the secret is out. 

“I love you too.”
