YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT HURTS MORE, watching your best friend fall for someone new, or watching him get back with his ex.
Either way, it hurts like a bitch.
You were having lunch with Musa, Bloom and Aisha when Stella suddenly came –demanding– help for her lost ring.
When Sky sat down beside Bloom practically giving her the biggest heart eyes, you wanted the ground to swallow you.
Then Stella called for Sky, intentionally touching his arm as a warning that he's hers.
You felt like you were going to explode if you didn't get out of there.
You abruptly stood up, taking everyone's attention to you.
"Where you going?" Musa asked. Although she can feel your jealousy, she didn't want you to go and leave her with them.
"Library." you said to her, sending a sweet smile that didn't seem real at all.
Musa understood that you needed space, so she just nodded and gave your hand a soft squeeze.
But Sky didn't get that though, he knows you better than anyone and you never go to the library. Not while planning ahead anyways. "Wait, why?" he asked.
"Not of your business." you unintentionally snapped.
Sky's face fell at the sudden outburst and before he could ask anything you already packed your bag and started to walk away.
But of course, you couldn't just make a smooth exit without something messing up.
In a rush, you didn't even realise a guy was walking to you. You guys bumped into each other and all of the guy's books fell to the floor.
You kneeled down and started to immediately apologise, "Shit! I'm so sorry! I didn't see you, and I was just-"
The guy chuckled and crouched down taking his books, your fingers brushing against each other. "It's okay love." he said.
Your head snapped up to look at him at the sudden pet name as the heat came rushing to your neck and ears.
Sky on the other hand, didn't like how you were blushing because of the guy, and the sudden use of word love, made a pit in his stomach grow as he clench his fists.
When Musa suddenly felt a wave of anger in the cafeteria, her attention moved to Sky noticing how red his face had gotten, she smirked.
The whole situation is just funny now.
The guy you bumped into was cute to say the least. He has these gorgeous honey brown eyes that make you melt and his charming smile. Let's not forget his dimples.
Oh my god the dimples.
You coughed and broke the staring contest you were in.
Your legs were jelly as you stood up, and with holding the books, you didn't have too much balance.
When the guy noticed you were about to fall, he immediately came forward to catch you.
But Sky was faster.
He always had this sixth sense if he's with you.
It was like he just knows when you will get hurt and no matter how many times you fall, it will always be Sky who caught you.
Riv said that it's because Sky is whipped for you.
Whatever the hell that means.
Just the thought of you hurting made the blonde's heartbreak.
His hands went to your waist as he held you up. Stella and Bloom looked at you guys in jealousy but not for the same person.
You cleared your throat and moved out of Sky's grip as you handed the boy earlier his books.
The boy awkwardly took back his books and looked at you, "Can I have a name?"
You smiled, "I'm-" but as you were about to answer Sky's arm went back to your waist.
"No, you can't. Now leave." Sky said as he gave the boy a deadly glare. The boy whose name was unidentified nodded vigorously and walked away.
Your eyebrows furrowed; it wasn't like Sky to be rude.
Sky's eyes trained on the boy as he left but you turned to look at Sky and punched his shoulder.
"What the hell?" you scolded him, trying to keep your face from forming a big smile with how his arms set protectively around your waist.
He looked at you, shrugging his shoulders and said, "Didn't like him."
"You don't know him, Sky." you chuckled.
Oh, how he would hear you laugh over and over again. And to just see your smile every day makes him so happy, and how to feel when kissing you-
"Sky?" you asked him worriedly as he continued to stare at your face.
Sky blushed, noticing how he was caught in the act and decided to play it cool. "You're just really pretty."
Wow. Cool Sky. Really cool. He mentally face palmed himself.
The space around him bore the signs of hasty transitions and endless duties: reports, ledgers, and tomes stacked unevenly on the once-immaculate oak desk, a bookshelf crowded with the discarded training daggers he’d only gotten halfway through re-sharpening, the faint smell of stale tea lingering from the cup abandoned by the window — the Front Desk’s assumption that he shared Farah’s fondness for the stuff.

A little danger
Pairing: Sky of Eraklyon x mind!fairy
P A R T 2
Picking at her cuticles, Y/N couldn’t focus in class. It’s always been difficult for her to exercise control over her magic and plenty have tried to teach her how to quiet the voices she’s constantly praying would go away, but no one came closer than headmistress Dowling.
Under her care, Y/N had very few incidents regarding her magic. Ever since she disappeared, it’s been impossible to get through a single day without issues that made other students wary. No one wanted to be around an out of control fairy with the power many have compared to ancient magic most fairies only get pieces of.
“Perhaps Miss Y/L/N can enlighten us?”
Snapping out of her daze, Y/N can sense the anxiety all of her classmates feel with steady streams of support from a few who harbor empathy – Stella, Musa, Terra, Aisha, Bloom and the new girl she hasn’t met yet. Y/N was never close to any of the girls, sharing a few words with Musa from time to time. Truth be told, she couldn’t let herself care for anyone, she couldn’t burden herself with anyone’s emotions when her own try to drown her daily.
“About what?” She asks carefully and the professor’s annoyance is evident even to those who aren’t mind fairies.
“About mind fairies abilities.”
Clearing her voice, she glances at Musa. “That depends.” Licking her lips, she lets out a shuddered breath. “Weaker mind fairies only sense emotions. Stronger ones can influence such emotions – either change them or take them away completely which can be as debilitating as a sword to the heart if the fairy wills it so.”
Inhaling deeply, she forces herself to look ahead at the professor. “Others can read minds or even control some of them. If the victims are weak minded, unaware of the attack, they can succumb to a powerful mind fairy.” Furrowing her brows, she swallows thickly. “And then there are those who possess the ancient magic”, she can feel everyone’s on edge, worried she might snap once again. Some have even cowered behind their desks in anticipation.
“Those fairies can use telekinesis as well as do all the things aforementioned.”
“Can they transform”, Musa asks and Y/N turns to her with concern.
“I don’t know.”
After class, Y/N stayed behind. Last thing she needs is to find herself in the panicked group of students fleeing the class to get away from her. Their emotions could be dangerous and she’s exhausted, hoping for a single moment of peace.
“I know how it feels”, Musa’s voice lingers in her mind. She didn’t speak it to her, she thought it. And she knew Y/N could hear.
“The constant fear of killing everyone? Really?” Y/N chuckles dryly.
“No, but the voices”, Musa speaks. “They never quiet for me either.”
“Do you feel it, though?” Y/N turns to her with tears in her eyes. “Something’s different since Dowling abandoned the school.”
“Yeah”, Musa stands. “It’s been impossible to ignore everyone’s fears and anxieties.”
“I feel the rage”, Y/N bites her lower lip. “I feel pure, unadulterated rage and hatred and grief and danger I cannot explain.”
Frowning, Musa folds her arms over her chest. “From who?”
Shrugging, Y/N’s lips quiver. “I can’t focus hard enough to identify them. But something bad is coming our way and the fairies that have gone missing cannot be a coincidence.”
Nodding, Musa nears her. “We agree.”
“We?”
Within the hour, Y/N found herself surrounded by the very girls she’s been avoiding. They didn’t fear her, though some, like Aisha, kept a healthy dose of concern alive.
“So, you’re telling me Rosalind is summoning some creatures that are taking fairies but none of you know for what purpose?”
Glancing at each of the girls staring at her, Y/N sighs. They haven’t got a clue what’s happening, but neither does she. At least now, Y/N can breathe easily. The constant feeling of dread that’s been taking apart her sanity makes sense. There is something amidst here and she’s not losing control for no reason.
“Alright. So how do we find out?”
Bloom raises her brows, pointing at the girls. “We will.”
Snorting, Y/N shakes her head. “Why bother telling me all of this if I’m not allowed to take part in any of it?”
“Because you’re having control issues and that’s not something we can gamble on.”
Crossing her arms over her chest, Y/N leans back on the wall. “Really, Bloom? We’re talking about control issues now?”
Sighing, Bloom looks at the girls for support but no one says a word. “Sky would kill us.”
“What does he have to do with this?” Stepping closer, Y/N scowls. “What did your boyfriend tell you?”
Frowning, Bloom licks her lips. “He’s not my boyfriend.”
Rolling her eyes, Y/N shakes her head. “Everyone knows about you two.”
“They’re wrong”, Bloom exclaims. “We’re just too different and decided being friends would be for the best a while ago.”
“And at what point did he decide that you’d all report to him about what I do?”
“The moment Blood witches became part of the story”, Bloom replies.
Biting the inside of her bottom lip, Y/N nods to herself. “You didn’t tell me they’re involved too.”
Blood witches are the natural enemies of all fairies, but their rivalry with mind fairies is incomparable to others. Mind fairies, if powerful enough, can wield identical magic, difference being mind fairies can soil their plans but they cannot fight back.
“It’s complicated.” Musa speaks up.
“Sure it is”, Y/N smiles but it doesn’t reach her eyes. “If you need me, Musa has my number.”
Rushing out of the dorms, Y/N headed straight for the forest. She can feel her own anger bubbling up, tightening inside her chest. Her powers are escalating again, sounds of everyone’s thoughts playing inside her mind are louder, screaming in unison and she cannot find her own voice in their violent chorus.
Grimacing, she’s running past the specialist training grounds, feeling she’s losing the last inkling of hope for an incident free day. And she was doing so well for once, there were moments of pure silence she could hold onto in the morning, especially when she’d daydream.
Falling to her knees, heaving, she tried to pinpoint where she’s gone to but the world is spinning around her as her throat closes up with the panic crawling down to her lungs to rob her of the ability to breathe.
She can’t hold on, the reigns she’s been gripping so tightly have left her with rope burns that send searing pain throughout her very being. And so she gives up. She relents control, allowing the pain out in the world, screaming out as the wildfire burning in her lungs makes its way out her throat.
It’s a raw, powerful way to release emotions, destructible in ways she never dreamed of becoming. The trees around her fall to their sides from the impact as her telekinetic magic escapes her, ripping them from their roots. And in that moment, the woods have cleared, allowing sunshine to warm her tear-stricken face.
And as her focus returns, she doesn’t hear thousands of thoughts plaguing her as usual. She only hears one.
That hurt.
“Sky?!”
Scrambling to her feet, she looks around frantically. In that moment she found the source of both peace and frustrations that she convinced herself is unnecessary in her life, but her heart is screaming otherwise.
“Here”, he raises a hand.
Seeing him on the ground, her heart drops. She did that. She hurt him. She didn’t mean to, but it happened and she has no excuse.
Covering her mouth, she chokes back a sob.
“Are you happy now?!” Her voice is raspy, filled with concern and unimaginable hurt.
Lifting his head, he furrows his eyebrows. “Why are you the one that’s mad at me?”
“Because you could have died!” Coming closer to him, she finds him propping himself up on his elbows. “I could have killed you!”
“But you didn’t”, he smirks. “Besides, I always wanted to know what it feels like to fly.”
Narrowing her eyes at him, her lips part. “Oh my God, you’re insane.”
Chuckling, he sits up. “Just matching your energy.”
“Fuck you!”
“I wish you would”, Sky jokes and her jaw drops.
“Are you Riven?” She furrows her brows. “Did he somehow insert himself in your body?”
“No”, Sky stands up, holding his stomach. Wincing, he licks his lips. “I don’t know why I said that. I’m sorry. Didn’t mean to be crude.”
“Lift up your shirt.” She crosses her arms over her chest.
“What?”
“Wanna make it up to me? Lift up your shirt!”
Sighing, he grabs the hem of his shirt. “You didn’t do this to me”, he says quietly as she comes closer. Revealing a bandage running ‘round his stomach, Y/N swallows thickly at the sight.
Reaching to the area where he was gripping his stomach moments ago, Y/N pauses before her fingertips touch the bandage.
“Who did this to you?”
“Training’s been different lately”, Sky takes hold of her hand, allowing it to rest over the bandage. The hesitation and the shakiness of her fingers are more painful than the wound itself.
“I’m sorry”, she whispers, eyes still focused on his hand over hers.
“For what?”
“For being unable to protect you.” Looking up, she finds his blue eyes already on her. “If I were a different fairy, I could help you – protect you or heal you, but I’m useless. If anything, I’m a danger for you.”
“You think you don’t heal me?” Sky laughs. “I remember when we met.” Exhaling loudly, he places her hand over his heart now. “Saul and your mom were friends and we spent so much time together. You had the prettiest smile and the happiest laugh I’ve ever heard.”
“And you always teased me about my inability to spar with you properly.”
“Because I liked you”, Sky admits. “You were like the sun and then you were gone.”
“I started exhibiting powers”, Y/N explains. “I hurt you.”
“You barely left a mark”, he insists.
Shaking her head, she bites her lower lip. Dropping her gaze, she lets out a heavy sigh. “There was so much blood.”
Bowing his head, he uses his free hand to show her the scar. “And yet I cherished this every day since you were taken from my life.”
“You’re masochist”, she deadpans.
“Just a guy who really missed his childhood friend.”
“That you liked”, she smiles softly and for the first time in a painfully long time, Sky sees the smile he spent years yearning for.
“Like”, he tucks her hair behind her ear. “I never forgot about you.”
“The terrible sparring partner who almost killed you”, she reminds him. “I’m incredibly dangerous. People around me tend to die.”
“I’m not leaving you.”
“You should”, she winces. “Ever since the Burned ones attacked the school, whatever control I had was lost.” The sounds of their suffering have unhinged her that night and they haunt her still.
Releasing her hand, he smiles as she keeps it over his chest. She can hear his mind, feel his emotions if she wants to, yet she holds on to the feeling of his heart beating against his chest frantically for her as if she doesn’t trust her abilities, only what’s under the palm of her hand.
Placing the tip of his index finger under her chin, he tilts her head up to meet her gaze bravely. “I’m not leaving you”, he repeats solemnly.
“Because I’m your fairy?”
Cupping her cheeks, he leans his forehead on hers. “Because you make me glad I’m alive.”
Okay look I can’t turn my brain off this and I need to make it other people’s problem.
The way Sky looks at Riven as he tells Musa to run just fucking gets me. There’s something about the mild confusion/surprise/delayed response on his part that stands out. Sky is watching Riven and I imagine he’s thinking about how Riven double checked before, to make sure Musa was okay with doing this. Even though for all intents and purposes Riven shouldn’t care, wouldn’t check if it was someone else, especially not because they’re going after Beatrix.
And now here Riven is trying to protect her first and foremost. And Sky is so taken aback by this that his reaction to pulling his own weapon is delayed. Sky, who is largely considered one of the best specialists, who should’ve had his weapon pulled already, is so surprised by Riven’s behavior that his reaction time is actually slowed. I’m literally obsessed I can’t stop thinking about it. Sky is Riven’s best friend, even when they don’t get along they fucking know each other and he’s obviously starting to process that something is going on in Riven’s mind about Musa. I can’t get enough ugh.
I know it's stupid, goddess, I know! But I just can't. I needed to make this dumb joke. Cause Rivusa will be "head over heels". And Riv won't be aware of his feelings until someone tells him about them.
