— who: @skyperez — where: Tin Roof
Living in a tourist trap usually didn’t bother Hayes. He never really found an issue in it, except for maybe the traffic jams down Broadway. But tonight they were grating on his nerves. He went to The Tin Roof to listen to open mic night and drink some of the stress of the day away. In reality he was drinking the stress of the past few weeks away, but hey. At least he lives close enough he could walk home. But the tourists tonight wouldn’t let that happen. Instead, he was stuck leaning against the same bit of bar as someone who had probably pregamed at their AirBnB and were more interested in heckling the performers on stage. Yelling song requests and comments on their skill level. If he was in a better mood, maybe he would’ve been nicer about it. Saying something about how maybe if they thought they could do better they should grab a guitar. But he wasn’t in a charitable mood today. Patting his pockets for the crumpled carton of cigarettes he’s got on him, the blonde huffed. “Think you could shut the fuck up for a second?” He asked the non locals before shoving past them toward the door to light a cigarette. What happened next was predictable. They were drunk and narcissistic enough to think that they were the best people in the room. Obviously as soon as Hayes left they started hyping themselves up about how that type of disrespect couldn’t go unpunished. At least he could finish his cigarette before the ringleader started talking about how Hayes wasn’t cool for that. The whole thing took twenty minutes. Punches and kicks being thrown before the distant siren of a cop car sent the tourists running. Which led Hayes to the back door of the bar where Sky was in the back room taking inventory. “Hey,” He said, lazy smile only marred by a growing bruise on his jaw and cut lip. “Think y’got some ice back there?”
