It’s not a bird. It’s not a plane. It’s a 20x20 aerial matrix of dynamically addressable LEDs displaying a real-time peace symbol powered by Adafruit Sparkle Motion Mini, suspended by a DJI drone, controlling the display, over WiFi using WLED.
This skyborne LED mesh—dubbed PixelLift, no.. CloudStitch, no… Aggressively Peaceful Display™ no, LED Zeppelin … any way … it is controlled with surgical precision by the Adafruit Sparkle Motion Mini board https://www.adafruit.com/product/6160 . This compact powerhouse features the ESP32-S3, onboard USB-C, a built-in I2C STEMMA QT port, dual JST NeoPixel ports, a microphone, and terminal block power for hassle-free battery integration. The drone-mounted 2D NeoPixel matrix runs WLED firmware, which takes animations (converted from GIFs via the Pixel Magic tool) and streams them across the panel as compressed JSON frame data.
The display? A peaceful protest of photons. The driver? A tiny open-source board, less than 2 inches long. The result? A floating LED display system capable of animating the sky.
