Fanfic readers are losing the fucking plot and I’m not okay with it.
In two days, from two different fandoms and two different commenters, I have received comments that never should have been left. Backhanded compliments are still insults, people! Telling me I should have wrote this instead of that because you didn’t read the tags isn’t a me problem? Hello?
And trust me. I know there are more deranged commenters out there. But I’ve been publishing fics on ao3 since 2018. And I have never, not once, received any form of a negative comment. Am I lucky? I shouldn’t have to say that because NOBODY SHOULD BE LEAVING NEGATIVE COMMENTS!
Fandom is a community space! It’s where we can all meet to flail about our OTPs and share safe space together. but is it any wonder why communities are dying out when you have entitled pricks who think they can give unwarranted commentary on how you should change a fucking word because it icks them?! Be so fucking for real with me right now. Your fanfic writers, your fan artists, your editors — yeah, we all do and share these things because we love it! And we want to share the love with the community! Yet why would anyone want to share the things the love when someone else thinks it’s acceptable behavior to comment asinine things?
if we don’t address the problem, one day it will come down to the death of fandom.
idk. i just think it's kind of shitty to make fun of celtic languages or try to project english rules onto them. just because a language has a latin alphabet doesn't mean it follows english spelling rules and celtic spelling rules actually make sense when you actually learn the rules. and just because a word may sound like a rude or adult word in english doesn't mean it's ok to make fun of it. it's as beautiful as any other word in the language and shouldn't be made fun of i think.
I’m so fucking tired of doing all these things in order to shift to my drs and still waking up here. Like I don’t understand. I feel like sometimes my desire for shifting is the only thing that is keeping me going and I feel like that’s not good but at the same time I don’t feel like I’ve got much else. Anyway….✌🏽
question (no context)
do they end up together? (pls say yes, i'm a sucker for a happy ending)
do they?
yes
no
IGHT, ight, sooo I was in communications class learning about how to make a speech and stuff. Our professor was explaining how to pronounce words correctly and make sure it's accurate pronunciation. And she had the AUDACITY to use the dreaded T word 😳. She asked the class, "How do you say this word? Is it tic-kl-lish? Or tick-lish?" I was kind of dying inside because I had to try and stay calm, not showing any reaction. NO ONE was smiling like an idiot 😭. Why'd she have to use that worddddd.
