I wrote this because of @ronyascribbles and her little comic about Alfons' lover dying. S U F F E R H O N E Y All he could hear was shouting. His vision was blurred. Only shapes, blobs more like, moved around him. "He's losing too much blood! We can't save him!" "No. You have to try." "We tried everything we could think of! Please...! Try to understand!" "Try again." "We tried. There's nothing we can do to save him. I'm sorry. We'll leave you two alone. I wish we could have done something." And the healers exited the tent. Leaving the injured kitsune and his lover alone. "Skye... Why did you...? You should have let me..." "N.. o..." A hoarse voice objected weakly. "Skye!? You're still alive!? I'll go get the healers...!" Skye simply shook his head and offered a weak smile. "They can't do anything... please... smile for me Alfons... my love. I won't ever leave your side... death can't keep me from you." Alfons briskly walked over to his lover and held him close to his chest. "I won't let you go. Not now, not ever." "Alfons...? I have... one last request..." "Anything for you my love." He drew back with a vacant smile on his face "Sing me a song... you have such a lovely voice..." He smiled warmly and caressed Alfons' face gently with a limp hand. Alfons steeled himself and continued to cradle Skye's head. A sweet alto note escaped his lips and carried for a moment. He sang a few more notes before lyrics formed. "No one's gonna hurt you. You're safe in my arms. You're loved here with me. Please never forget me." Skye smiled weakly and closed his eyes. "Thank you, my love." And his shallow breathing came to a stop. "Skye? Love...?" He gave Skye's body a light shake while tears welled in his eyes. "Skye...! Don't leave me! Please don't leave me! I'm begging you!" He clung to Skye's body and started to sob and heave. "I'm begging you! Please don't leave me!" "Alfons! Please! We need to take care of his body. I... I'm sorry for your loss. Please accept condolences from us. We're here if you need us." "... thank you. Do what you must. But please let me have his scarf as a momento." "Anything you need Alfons." And he gently removed the scarf from Skye's neck and held it close and tight.
So I told @theasgardiandetective to expect something from me. AGES ago. I finally got it!! "Atumn sweetie! Could you please run into town and pick up a few things?" A sweet voice rang out into the open air. "Yeah mom! I'll be in in a sec!" A smaller voice called back. And in seconds a little girl was running uphill with her hair bouncing behind her. "What do you need?" She panted out. "I have a list! But don't worry if you can't find everything on it. Sometimes the stores have them and sometimes they don't." Atumn's mother smiled warmly and handed her daughter the list. "Okay! But... why didn't you ask Ace to go instead? He's older and smarter than I am... I can't compete." Atumn sounded a little disheartened at her own words and she looked to the side; staring straight down to the ground. Summer Lutz, Atumn's mother, knelt down so she could see her daughter on eye level and very calmly said "Yes, Ace is older. But just because he's older doesn't make him smarter. He just acts aloof because he's afraid of people getting too close. You're a kind, sweet girl Atumn. And you're going to be a brilliant woman who can change this world." She finished and drew Atumn into a tight embrace. "Besides: some things I can't trust Ace with on this list. Nothing bad, but I know he won't grab them." She pulled from the hug with a smirk. "Now get going!" She moved her arms in a very hurry up motion while smiling "Okay mom! I'll be back!" Atumn waved as she ran downhill from her house. The town, as always, was bustling with people and activity. Things to do and things to see. And Atumn: wanted to see everything. Easily distracted, yes, but not unfocused. She quickly did the shopping and was going to leave when she heard shouting. Without missing a beat she ran right toward the voices. "Hey! This is where HUMANS live pal! Not you freaks a nature over there!" Spit flew, and words were slurred. "Someone outta arrest you for just: EXISTING!" Atumn came on just as she heard those words. And she felt her rage boil up beyond her breaking point, and quickly. "Now that is just about enough out of you! You no good degenerate drunkard! And I refuse to hear another word from you. Unless it's sorry." She glanced over at the fanus being harassed. He was a wolf. "Yeah well: it's true! Why're you takin his side anyway? He's a freak a nature and you know it!" A fist flew and landed square in the faunus' stomach. Downing him right away. Atumn lost her mind; dropping her groceries and running toward the assaulted. "Are you alright!? Don't worry! I'm here. My name is Atumn Lutz. Daughter of Summer and Lente Lutz. Younger sister of Ace Lutz. And we fight for faunus rights on every front possible. Now please excuse me while I take care of this person." She stood quickly and glared over at the drunk man. "You will pay for your insolence! And since this poor man cannot defend himself, allow me to step in for him." "Ha! A little girl's gonna fight ME!? That's a riot!" He simply relaxed himself and looked at Atumn smugly. "Oh, you're going to regret your mistake pal. This backpack? It's not just my backpack. It's also my weapon! Because I'm studying to become a huntress. Now then..." She pulled her backpack off and pulled a wand out of it. "I'm going to give you one last chance to say you're sorry." "Never." "Alright!" She giggled and waved her wand. And her backpack seemingly came to life. She flung it forward with enough momentum to concuss someone. And it landed square in the assaulter's stomach. Downing him instantly. She turned to a crowd that had started to form and proclaimed loudly "Let this man here serve as a warning! I will not tolerate mistreatment of faunus in any way shape, or form! Am I clear?" The crowd nodded in agreement. Dispersing quickly. Atumn ran back over to the injured faunus. "Are you alright? What's your name? Can you tell me where you live?" Her voice was quick with worry and panic. She started to compress his injured stomach a bit. "I...I'm fine... Why did you stand up for me like that...? He's not wrong..." The faunus tried to move to look at Atumn better, but to no avail and ended up wincing in pain. "Because I feel that he is wrong. That's why. And I am going to fight that feeling, and fight for those who can't fight for themselves. That is why I've decided to become a huntress." She smiled gently and the look of determination in her eyes burned brightly. "Right... The name's Gray. Gray Buralo." He smiled weakly and began to stand up slowly. "Please don't move much! I have some groceries close by. I'll grab those and come right back! I'll take you back with me to my parents and we'll get you checked out throughly." She didn't leave time for him to answer beyond his name. She quickly upped him and then proceeded toward her groceries. Picking them up quickly she began the walk back to her house. "Mom! I'm home!" Atumn came through the door with a resounding shout. Summer came rushing down to scoop her daughter into her arms. But she stopped mid-run and stared at the man her daughter had escorted home. "Atumn. Who is that man?" "This is Gray Buralo! He was being harassed by a drunk man earlier. And he was a little injured. I just want to make sure he's alright! I can check him over!" She looked worried at her mother's expression. A little stern and worried. "Very well. But I would like to have some words with Gray when you're done." Her words seemed icy cold, but had a heart to them so Atumn wouldn't get too suspicious of her mother. "Okay mom!" And just like that she left the groceries at the door and dragged Gray back to make sure the injuries weren't serious. Once Atumn had finished Summer opened the door and was followed by Lente and Ace. "We know who you are. But Atumn does not. We would like to keep it that way. I had half a mind to call the police. But Atumn would see. And I don't want her to see that. And she sees some good in you. Even if it's minuscule she sees it. And she might even be hoping that you follow it and stop your deeds in their tracks." "Well your kid's shit outta luck lady. I'm in too deep to turn back now. And she said she's training to be a huntress right? So the next time we meet she could very well be going after me as a target of a mission." Gray stood up and waved at the three of them. "Best of luck to all of you." And he sauntered out. "Mother. Father. I'm going to school with Atumn. If we end up on a team together she won't have to see Gray in a way that would make this memory of him sour for her." Ace said sternly; his mind already made up on the matter. "Alright Ace. We support you and your decision." Summer smiled gently and placed a hand on Ace's shoulder "Thank you mom." Ace smiled just as warmly as Summer smiled at him.
Haha well I decided to make a rant about my current state of mind in the form of story
"I can't be perfect... I'm not... But I have to try!" He stared his reflection in the eyes, and glared. "You're nothing. You couldn't even make your own father happy. Look at you! Who could blame him!?" He looked at his reflection's body and glared even harder. "No wonder... You're nothing but a worthless faggot anyway... You can't even keep a relationship... Ha... He was right to never give you approval." "I disagree with that notion." A voice rang out. "Who's there!?" He spun around terrified for his life. He was supposed to be alone. "Hey little bro. I just wanna tell you that you're wrong. Dad was never good enough for YOU. He didn't want you in his life because he couldn't handle how amazing you are." "I could have been totally NAKED! Don't do that again!" He was wearing a towel around his waist thankfully. "And thanks. You know exactly what to say to make me feel better. Let's go get some dinner. My treat!" "Awesome! Where should we go then?"
So I have a headcannon that Neptune never learned how to swim, and that’s why he’s afraid of water; that and he almost drowned when he was a kid. That’s the basics of what you need to know before going into this.
“A-are you sure this is a good idea Sun? I could have just paid for the tickets you know. Then there wouldn’t be that whole threat of being thrown off a moving ship into open waters with no chance of survival you know.” The blue-haired male looked around the dark crate nervously as his friend put a reassuring hand on his own trembling one.
“Dude, we’re gonna be fine. I promise. I do this all the time, and I end up just fine! I’ve only been caught like maybe once or twice. The key is to just be quiet. Okay?”
“O-okay...” And with that Neptune tried to keep quiet, but his anxiety took over and he floundered about for Sun’s hand. “Sun... I’m scared. What if they find us? What would happen? Would the throw us overboard? Is that still a thing on ships? Why did I even let you talk me into this?”
Sun sounded a little more irritated, but he understood where his friend was coming from; after all he told Sun why he’s so afraid of water. And Sun thought that being around Neptune would help ease that fear a little. “Okay. They won’t find us. Don’t worry about that okay?”
Just then: footsteps: coming fast toward the crate with the two stowaways. Forcefully opened, they came spilling out. “Well look what we got here. Two stowaways. Go ask the captain what to do with them.” There were two guards. The one that spoke looked to be above the other in rank. The other ran out of the cargo hold and to the captain’s quarters.
“Wh-what do you plan to do with us?” Neptune asked; his voice shaking already.
“Oh, you’ll see.” The officer guard smirked.
The under-ranking officer came back and looked his superior in the eyes. “Sir! He said that we should separate them and throw them out.” He gave a salute and then went back to a normal standing position.
“You take that faunus filth. I will never touch one. As for you...” He grabbed Neptune harshly and started to drag him off away from Sun.
In a haste of panic Neptune broke free of the upper-guard’s grip and ran to Sun; wheezing and sobbing. He tackled the other guard to make him let go of Sun, and he just held tightly to him.
The guards tried to approach the pair. Neptune simply turned around and fished his wallet out of his pocket and threw it at them. “Please! Just take what I have! There should be enough for two tickets! Just please don’t separate us!” His shouts were broken up by sobs, and wheezes. And shortly after his pleading, he blacked out.
Neptune woke up, cold cement greeted his face. He sat right up and looked around while feeling for his wallet. He found it, and not a single cent was missing. Why didn’t they give us tickets..? But before he could ask for an answer the guards came up to him. He noticed bars separating them. He was in a cell. The very next thing his eyes did was scan for Sun. He was nowhere to be found. The panic rose in his mindset and he glared at the guards. “Where is he? WHat did you DO with him!?”
“Oh? Him? We threw him off the ship. He looked like he could swim.”
“YOU DID WHAT!? NO! YOU DIDN’T! I KNOW YOU DIDN’T!” Neptune stood up and ran into the cell bars several times: shoulder first. “TELL ME WHAT YOU REALLY DID WITH HIM!” He changed sides and ran into the cell bars more. A small dent formed and Neptune could squeeze his head through it. He ducked under and ran at the head guard. Slamming him into a wall by the neck. “TELL ME WHERE IS NOW!”
“H-he’s in a different cell! Just lemme go!” The guard drops the keys on the floor; Neptune drops him and lets him gasp for breath as he rushes over to Sun’s cell. He opened it up quickly and ran over to Sun; holding him tight in his arms and crying heavily.
“Sun... I was so scared... Please don’t ever do this again... Just ask me and I’ll pay for a ticket for you and I both. Okay?”
This hiatus is going to kill me isn’t it? YES IT IS. So here, some Seamonkeys angst because why the fuck not?
Sun had been treating Neptune differently for the last few weeks. Sun would come back to the dorm at random hours; he wouldn't answer his scroll at other hours; he wouldn't even make eye contact with Neptune at all. That irritated him the most. He couldn't stand being in the dark anymore. He needed to know what was going on. So, one day he waited up for Sun to come back to the dorm. Sage and Scarlet had already fallen asleep. The door opened, and in he stepped. Neptune waiting to greet him. "Hey Sun. What's going on? You've been acting really weird lately. I'm worried about you."
Sun leaped back and his tail froze, straight and rigid. "H-hey there Nep! Wh-what's up?"
"I already told you. I'm worried about you. You've been getting back here at weird hours, and you won't answer your scroll when I call. Where are you going Sun? I'm worried about you. Please: if it's something you need, anything I ca--"
"I-I've been seeing someone." Short and to the point, hurrying with his words Sun looked at Neptune. He looked hurt, betrayed, confused, and then: the anger hit.
Neptune became irrational. He didn't think about what he was saying. "You're seeing someone!? Who!? What's the name!? I'll... I'll...! What don't you like about me!? I can change it! I... I promise! I can change!" Neptune tried hard to hold up, but his tears were building; threatening to fall down to the ground in a ceaseless torrent.
"Neptune... It's not like that... I promise." Sun took a step forward with an outstretched arm.
"Shut up! I know what it means! Don't come near me!" Neptune backed away and took a defensive stance.
"Neptune..."
"I don't need you anymore! Move outta my way!" Without even thinking about it: Neptune rushed past Sun and ran out the dorm. Sun stood there with tears forming in his eyes. He didn't have the chance to explain what was happening.
Neptune was walking along, trying to keep it together. Still in an irrational mindset he felt as though he should call Sun and tell them that this was an offical breakup. But he never had the chance. Just as he was about to call someone, or rather some people, came up and knocked him out cold with one attack. They found his scroll, and decided to call Sun from it.
Sun was still standing by the door in shock. Why? Why would he assume that of all things? I've never shown any signs of being unfaithful... But I guess I should have just been honest with him... And now he's go-- His thoughts interrupted by his ringing scroll; he looked down and saw who was calling. He answered right away. "Nep! I'm so glad you called! I--"
"Shut up Wukong. We have your little boy toy. If you want him alive... Well: you know what to do." And as quickly as Sun answered, the call ended. Sun ran out the door with his weapon in tow. Dammit Nep! Please be okay... They better not hurt on hair on your head!
The people who attacked Neptune waited in an allyway. "God, what's taking him so long? We called him almost an hour ago!"
"Shut up. You're the one that forgot to tell him WHERE to meet us."
“My god, you're never making the calls again. You NEVER tell them where to meet us. Why do we even LET you make these calls?"
"Fine, fine, I'd love to see either of YOU do better."
"Shut up! I hear something!" Footsteps, fast, running, panicked footsteps. Sun came running into the allyway and he saw Neptune slung over one of their shoulders.
"Let him go." His voice was steeled and cold. They did as he said, and just kicked him; just to turn him over and show that he was relatively unscathed. Sun rushed over and checked for breath. There was still some: thank the Gods. He glared up at the three who towered over them. "Why did you do that? You knew it would get a reaction out of me. Right?"
"Ding, ding, ding! Someone give the man a prize!" The three stepped closer, and Sun jumped over Neptune's unconscious body and glared at all of them again; staff at the ready to attack. They tried to jump him, but Sun leapt up and came crashing down with a resounding thwap on who appeared to be the leader. The other two lunged forward, but Sun grapped Neptune and started to run away.
"Oh no you don't Wukong!" Just then one of them pulled out their weapon and shot Sun. He let out a howl of pain and agony; it went into his side. Dropping Neptune and crumpling to the floor. Walking over to him, weapon still drawn, they pulled it over Sun's head. "Say your prayers, Wukong."
"Nep.. I-I'm sorry..." And he closed his eyes and hoped it would be quick and painless. But nothing ever came. Instead someone had showed up to help! But: who could it have possibly been? No one was awake and knew where the two even were. Just then, a girl stood before them. Clothed in all white and a side ponytail: Weiss Schnee.
"You dunce! YOU'RE lucky that I was walking the halls trying to make myself fall asleep. I saw you run off with your weapon. I ran back to my dorm and grabbed mine and followed you as quickly as I could. And it looks like I showed up just in time. Now then: let's get BOTH of you to a hospital. I don't care what happened between you two, and I don't want to hear arguing. Just grab him and lean on me. I have some bandages around here somewhere." Looking around she pulled out some bandages from one pocket, and started to wrap them around Sun's side "I swear, you should have woken up your teammates and told them what happened, then you could have easily avoided this. Just try and think next time. Now lean on me and help me carry him." She motioned over to Neptune and then stood up and took Sun's hand and slung his arm over her shoulder. They walked over to Neptune's unconscious body still lying on the ground. Weiss offered to carry the brunt of Neptune's weight, but Sun insisted that he do it.
They reached the hospital and Weiss stayed to make sure they were checked in properly. "And make sure you treat the blonde one as if he were a human, or I'll make sure that they hear about it from me." And then she just walked out.
Sun just stared at Neptune; wondering if he'd ever wake up. "Nep... It really wasn't what you thought. I wanted to surprise you with something nice... I know there are no important dates coming up, but I wanted to give you something nice... After all you've done for me... I wanted to try and repay you..." Sun sighed heavily and continued talking to himself. "I found a job, weird hours, and decent pay. I wanted to make sure it was enough before I took you out. And now... Now I've almost lost you... Dammit! I'm such an idiot..."
"You're not..." A small objection rang in. "I was the idiot. I should have known you wouldn't have even considered cheating on me with someone else... I'm just glad that you're okay..." He smiled. He knew everything was going to be fine after that. And that he shouldn't doubt Sun.
Turls awoke in a cell; eyes struggling to adjust to the dimness. He heard footsteps drawing ever closer. Eventually two figures loomed over him. Elves: he assumed. "Do you know why we brought you here?" Asked one.
"I do not." Turls replied coldly.
"Well, we've brought you in here on 'treason' against the high elven throne."
"You can't do that! I'm completely innocent!" Turls' protests began full heartedly, but fell on deaf ears.
"I'm afraid that we can. We already have."
"What can I do to clear my name then!?" Turls' mind was frantic; thrown into a cell on false charges of treason would assuredly do that to anyone.
"Fight."
"E-excuse me...?"
"You heard him. Fight for it. You wanna get outta here so badly? Gotta work for it."
"V-very well then. I accept your terms."
"Alright! Let's get this started!"
And with that the cell opened up, and the two elves grabbed Turls suddenly and began dragging him along. All the while shouting and announcing that there would be a fight.
A little while later: at the arena: if one could call it that. The 'stadium' stood about ten feet high, and could seat perhaps a hundred. As for the 'arena' it was just simply nothing more than a carved out rock of sorts.
Perhaps they have to keep this hidden from the higher-ups... Turls' mind worked quickly to assure himself that he could handle anything that came his way. And this certainly was something that came his way.
"Now: before the match begins we have to make sure you're ready. Do you have everything you would use in normal combat?"
Turls looked himself over. Since he had been rendered unconscious. He had most everything. The only thing missing was his bow. "I'm afraid I don't have my bow. If I could have that post-haste that would prove the best option."
The elves threw Turls' bow at his feet and scoffed. "You don't gotta be so polite and formal here. Besides: we all know what you are. Bastard child of a full elf and human woman. Never wanted in your own village, but your foolish mother took you there, and left you."
Turls picked up his bow; he stopped for but a moment before smiling widely at them. "I'm sorry, my mother only had my and her best interests at heart. I'm afraid that you're wrong there. She didn't leave me at the village. She sent me there thinking that would be the best option for both of us."
"Round one: Begin!" There was a shout, and a bell rang loud and true. Turls stood there a moment trying to analyze his opponent carefully and quickly.
Nothing more than a brutish man. I should be able to dodge behind him and shoot an arrow. Following that up with a swift kick and then sliding through to the other side should take care of him. Alright! Let's go! And as he thought; the man fell quickly at Turls' feet.
"Round one goes to: the prisoner!" There were cheers and there were jeers. Turls smiled widely and looked at everyone in the stadium; making sure to take in every face to report later.
"Round two: Begin!"
Alright, I can tell that he's had more formal training. But: if I feign an arrow shot into a sliding kick and then launch him; stomping him into the ground afterwards... He should also go down as easily as the first. And once again: Turls' thought process proved true!
"Round two goes to: the prisoner!" Once again there were cheers and there were jeers.
"Round three --" Before the announcer could say 'begin' someone rushed to him and began to whisper into his ear. "Yes, I see, very well then. If that is his wish. I'm afraid that we have no choice but to grant it." The announcer cleared his throat and spoke to the audience. "Well folks! It appears that we have a slight change in plans! It seems that one of the royal guard members: Yanvander has caught wind of this prisoner and wants to settle things himself!" Loud and outragous cheers echoed; in spite of the small venue.
Before Turls could even think of a stragegy to handle one of the royal guard; Yanvander entered. Gracefully, and powerfully, he landed in front of Turls and glared down at him. "No one will harm my prince so long as I draw breath." His voice was short and cold.
"I never said anything against the throne! I support the prince more than anything! He stands for good things!" But his protests fell on deaf, prideful ears.
"Round three: begin!"
Yanvander set right for Turls; rushing him and not giving Turls proper time to adjust. He blocked each blow as best he could, but eventually Yanvander ended up landing one good strike to Turls' back. Yelling out, Turls fell to the ground. But he stood just as quickly and began to run around Yanvander. To little avail, as Yanvander saw through Turls' stragegy, and launched a counter strike. It landed hard in Turls' stomach; sending him back down to the ground. He didn't stand as quickly, and the round ended.
It went on like this for the next couple rounds; Turls trying to passively approach Yanvander, and Yanvander shutting it down with punishment.
It was then that the idea formed in Turls' mind. He had to use a dirty trick; one trick that he could use only once in a battle. Feign a fainting. He needed to do that. And it was his one shot at seeing freedom once more.
"Round six: begin!"
As soon as the bell sounded; Turls fell to the ground; hitting it hard enough to lead everyone to believe that he had indeed passed out. Yandvander kept his guard up, but as time lead on: it dropped. Turls took his opportunity and leapt up; sweeping Yanvander's feet from under him. "I'm sorry, I truly wished to avoid this. I truly, truly, wish that I could have done this some other way." And he jumped up, and up again, coming down fast, faster, and faster, until eventually he landed with Yanvander right at the stomach.
The next round proved to be even more interesting; the both of them began to stop holding back from their true potential. Turls began using his bow more and more to confuse and daze Yanvander; which lead to victory in the following two rounds.
"Round nine: begin!"
The bell rang out once more and both sides had stopped holding back and gave it their all. Yanvander lunged forth with his full speed; Turls jumped up and evaded the attack narrowly.
If I'm to keep up I need the power of the Flaring Fairy.
"Power of the forest; I call upon you now. Come to me, and grant me your aid... Flaring Fairy: come to me in my time of need!" A small fair popped out of thin air and smiled at Turls; surrounding him in a warm glow. "Alright! Thank you Flaring Fairy." He bowed and then turned to Yanvander. "I can handle you now!" And with that Turls jumped up and fired two arrows from his bow before landing and unleashing a flurry of arrows upon Yanvander. Yanvander managed to block most of the arrow onslaught, but a few flew by and scraped him in spots not covered by his armor. Yanvander saw his chance, and charged forward; keeping his unarmored parts hidden; slamming into Turls and sending him flying a small distance. Turls stood quickly and nodded to himself. He then charged forward himself and slid: once, twice, and then kicking up and send Yanvander high into the air. Turls let Yanvander fall to the ground with a resounding thwack. Turls' breathing was deep; his body: desperate for a break. He turned around to face the crowd once more to see if he had won, but just then: Yanvander stood up and struck Turls on the back of his head. Turls fell to the ground: truly unconscious.
"The winner is: Yanvander!" Loud cheers echoed through once more; the last thing Turls heard before falling into a dark abyss.
